I haven't been up to the Guthrie Center in a couple of years and will be up there for tomorrow's show. Do they still serve sandwiches & things like that? Since we hope to get there early, I'd prefer to eat dinner there while we wait rather than Barrington Brew House (although I will miss their 5-beer sampler)...

When I went they had lunch, though I don't know about shows.

I can answer my own question... yes! And kudos to the "Holy Smoke" sandwich.

Actually, the kitchen volunteer who invented the sandwich ( crispy nitrate-free smoked bacon, smoked gouda cheese, with a little garlic and some honey mustard sauce, toasted in the oven, on rye) named it. Earlier in the morning we'd previously been talking about the sandwich combination, joking in the kitchen, (Holy @$%! That's a great sandwich! Holy $#&! My arteries!!) and she decided (and I agree!) that "Holy Smoke!" was a much more appropriate name, descriptive of what it was (and being served in a church!), and not offensive to people's ears. We sold out in about half an hour. Ya just can't beat good melted cheese and really great crisp bacon for a wonderful sandwich! I don't think Arlo knew about the special menu offering; it was only available on Sunday evening. The people who ordered it loved it!

Well I can testify to the Holy Smoke's deliciousness. I'm glad we chose the Sunday show just because of that. I'm happy I was there on such a historic day...

And Larry, you did an exceptional job taking my money.I've never had money taken from me in such a quality manner.

Why thank you. If you really enjoyed it that much, I'd be happy to send you my address and you can send me some more, and I promise to accept it in the quality manner you have come to expect.
:D

Now there's an offer that's hard to refuse. Let me see what I have kicking around and I'll get it right out to you.
