I was going through some newspaper clippings the other night and found one where someone had "borrowed" his car thinking that Arlo wouldn't really mind.
Arlo then wrote to the paper stating that even though the stero was valued at a reported $5,000 it really wouldn't be worth your trouble to try to steal the car. and that he had tried to sell the car by listing it in the paper a few time before the incident.
this was December 1981
so Arlo did you ever sell the checker cab?

I remember reading about the checker in an article by Joe Klein in a late 70's Rolling Stone called 'Notes on a Native Son', or something like that. I think it was supposed to have a tractor motor in it. Cool!

Aha, I wasn't the only one who saw the resemblance. :) Last Sun on our way back home from OH we went to a Missionary Baptist church up in Ghent, WV. We've been there a few times & it is really nice. We saw a guy there who looked like guess who? :) He wasn't too bad looking either. he came & talked to us after church. We told him about his resemblance to Arlo & aske if he'd heard of him. He'd heard of Arlo & thought he was a pretty good singer but thought Arlo was from Virginia lol. We explained he was from Mass. He hadn't seen any pics of Arlo in yrs & ahd no idea how he looked now. He was amazed that Arlo had a similar hair do. All during church I kep seeing the guyu & thinking about Arlo cuz he reminded me of Arlo. He had a hillbilly West Virginia accent and carried abig Bible. It was obvious he was a valued memebr of the church. I think Woody spent some time in WV... :)
