Cheryl -- There are some good videos up on Youtube that are more complete; not necessarily TV quality, but they're there. Just search "Seeger 90th birthday" and they should come up.

I can't stay mad at PBS, though. Yeah, they left out Oscar the Grouch's "Garbage" duet with Tom Chapin (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnxQ09sd1EY), but then today I find out Sesame Street is going to parody "Mad Men" next year, plus Dr. Who and Captain Picard are going to be on Great Performances in "Hamlet".

The show is finally being shown here in southeastern CT tonight! It pays to complain to your public TV station--originally they had no plans to show it! I was at the concert, and can't wait to see the highlights again!

Anyone have a fav. Pete Seeger Song? It's hard for me to choose, altho I've always loved his version of Malvena Renolds "Little Boxes".

Sailing Down this Golden River, is probly my favorite one, that Pete penned.

picking one favorite is hard, but here is another pretty good one

I love a lot of Pete's songs, but "Snow, Snow" from his Rainbow Race album is one of my favorites -- I've never heard him (or anyone else for that matter) do it live.

Eileen, ausome song. Sorta mellencholly, and poetic at the same time.

Maybe ADG took a step back for some reason or another - or maybe for no reason. Or maybe someone pushed him back. But he and Pete played together so many times, for so many events, I was expecting a duet or more, and was puzzled it didn't happen (at least on air). Maybe there's an explanation that didn't get as far as me.

I'm guessing it may have something to do with that thing in Kindergarten we all learned about sharing? :)

Old devil time, I'm goin' to fool you now!
Old devil time, you'd like to bring me down!
When I'm feeling low, my lovers gather 'round
And help me rise to fight you one more time!

Old devil fear, you with your icy hands,
Old devil fear, you'd like to freeze me cold!
When I'm sore afraid, my lovers gather 'round
And help me rise to fight you one more time!

Old devil pain, you often pinned me down,
You thought I'd cry, and beg you for the end
But at that very time, my lovers gather 'round
And help me rise to fight you one more time!

Old devil hate, I knew you long ago,
Then I found out the poison in your breath.
Now when we hear your lies, my lovers gather 'round
And help me rise to fight you one more time!

No storm nor fire can ever beat us down,
No wind that blows but carries us further on.
And you who fear, oh lovers, gather 'round
And we can rise and sing it one more time!

Arlo did a duet with Emmylou Harris on "Precious Friend" at the live show.
