One day we'll set traps for the Folkslinger migrating between the river and the mountain. He has to fly over North Alabama at some point. The trick is picking him out from the rest of the birds, but now that I've seen that photo, spotting a dayglo buzzard should be possible with all the high tech we have laying around. Or make that high techs... whatever. Then y'all can all come down here and ransom his gnarly self.

While we haven't as of yet... The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge looks inviting (and probably expensive).

We've stayed at the Comfort Inn in GB... Very nice.

If you find yourself with free time, The Norman Rockwell Museum is worth the venture.

Also... the old business district in GB is a nice way to browse an afternoon away. And of course, you absolutely have to spend a few hours in downtown Stockbridge.

We really enjoy hiking... If you're the same, Laura's tower is a must... Be sure to hike both trails.

If I was going to be there, which I'm not -but I have - I would hit Ice Glen, Monument Mountain (google it), Bartlett's Orchard, or Taft's, and I post an open challenge to anyone to find (and fit in) Eldon's Cave, which is near the GC, and has a mystical google presence.

If I can just get close enough to Big Blue to look it over, my list is complete. Otherwise, a recovering victim of modern chemistry and his ever patient but waay too stressed out wife-teacher-of-autistic children are looking forward to standing around doing not a heckuva lot. We may throw some garbage off into a ravine just to add our little pile to the big pile.

Just had the finest grilled tilapia, hummus, pita, and spiced rice the local palestinians can serve up. May the afternoon be as good as lunch was. Hmmm doggies.
