But so far, I figured (with len's help) that in order to edit Arlo Guthrie's facebook stuff you have to prove you are Bob Dylan. Of course I know I'm wrong.......but that's what I figured.

A slight aside: one of the ironic happenings at the Caldwell concert was the couple standing in front of us just before the show discussing how Arlo "has it in his contract that he will NOT play Alice's Restaurant", then a young fellow talking on the cell phone in front of the porta-place saying "Yeah, if you come now, he will be right in the middle of the Massacree", then after the last song, a voice way up on the hill screaming "DO ALICE'S RESTAURANT!!!"

I got to believe it gets to be a grind to play that riff for twenty minutes while remembering lyrics an audience can quote word for word. Then the question is, is Alice relevant today or nostalgic? I mean, I mean, I actually did sing it to the lady who registered me for the draft. In response, she laid a loaded 357 on the table. True story.

Maybe he should take Sarah with him on his solo tour. It could save a lot of discussion.

I've actually been thinking recently that the first line of "This Land is Your Land" is really the most revolutionary in our times. Nobody walks highways any more and it's illegal in a lot of places, especially on the real (interstate) highways, which I guess didn't exist when Woody wrote the song. I think we are starting to take some of the back, what with the closing of Broadway at Times Square to (motorized) traffic.
