No sopapillas and honey--not so upscale or authentic as that. John had Chicken Monterrey with veggies, and he ate ALL of his veggies without encouragement. None of us had dessert then or at dinner (plain 'merican dinner) at home. We're being very circumspect for the beginnings of a Blunder. Can't promise for later, however ... But I can promise there won't be sopapillas in Oklahoma, either. There will be white sliced bread and Jell-O available there; that I can promise.

Mexican food sounds yum! Hope everyones having fun there. I'm sure they are...

We'll head for WoodyFest in a few hours. I haven't looked at this thread in a year. Bizarre ... two hours after this post of mine (below), while we were throwing bags in the car, the HR head at my employer of 29 years called me at home to say they were reorganizing and I was no longer an employee. The first few days of WoodyFest were a bit of a blur. THIS year, however, I will be celebrating my somewhat impoverished independence. It's all good.

Oh, I should probably let all my fellow Woodyfest Blundercationers know that I got home about 1 AM this morning, after discovering that my Continental flight, operated by Northwest, out of Dallas, was really operated by Delta. Was I confused, running around in the 100 plus heat? Yup. But I made it home!

We had a great time at WoodyFest, seeing dear friends from all over the country, including many whose names we don't even know, but when we see them there each year, we're right back where we left off the year before. The music is the very best, also. (Except that we missed the Folkslinger, but gee-do you choose paying gigs in the cool north or a five-day pro bono gig in sweltering heat?--can't say I blame him.)

BTW, ADG--there was serious mention from the stage about possibly changing the festival time to honor Woody's death in October. Maybe you finally got through to them.

Sounds like a fun time. Glad you didn't fly United. They break guitars. If they change it to October Arlo may have to change the dates of the church shows...

Judy, I know what you mean about the Northwest/Delta confusion! How crazy is that? I had to put my daughter on a Northwest flight and all signs of Northwest were gone!

No stinkin' piles of garbage in Okemah--we'll have to put our envelopes under something else. WoodyFest has been honored by the Environmental Protection Agency for its recycling efforts. See link below.
