It has been a tradition of mine to (at the very least) play the album. I don't always catch the movie.
I do have a question though. During the movie at the funeral scene. There is a woman singing this song. I don't know the name of the song or the singers name. Even though I do recognize her voice. Would there be anyone that knows what it is that I'm talking about?

I'd have to dig out my copy which is currently packed away in readiness for an upcoming move. My suggestion would be to type a few of the verses into Google and see if anything comes up. That usually works for me.

The song's title is "Songs to Aging Children Come." I don't remember the singer's name in the movie, but Joni Mitchell did the song on her "Clouds" album, and she wrote it as well.

i think i remember arlo saying (sometime somewhere) it was tigger outlaw who was singing it.

Yup Agnes, it is Tigger Outlaw. She was married to Geoff Outlaw who played Arlo's friend Roger in the movie. It is my favourite scene from the movie, so moving.

that's interesting...it's been years since I saw Alice's Restaurant, so I didn't remember the funeral scene...but I was so inspired by that movie that I took out a cook book written by Alice...I just love her cooking style...
