I recently had a nice conversation with a young fella from Ireland. We happen to share a similar background. It turns out he had a number of questions I could throw some light on, and it made him feel better. And vise versa. And as he was headed for the west coast and then on to (I assume) home, all of the people he came in contact with after that were effected by his new perspective. I am only one person, but if I was able to help someone else become happier from our conversation, then I've made a difference in the world.

I agree with one person at a time. Its a Good Thing Arlo has been doing one concert (and more) at a time. The thing is we are up against both Political Orginazations called party's, who are not doing a damn thing to bring about Freedom. Freedom takes the ability to make enough trash to pay the rent and still have a good time.-Hopefully with one income for 32 hours a week in my mind.
Steve Earle won a Grammy for his "The Revolution Starts Now" in your own back yard, and your own homwe town. I just wish I could connect with some others who have heard the voice Steve Earle heard thundering much like Woody did over 50 years ago.
Good Day,

And you know Leoburg....Your question... "How can so few make much of a difference?"...Is actually a question which Arlo addresses every chance he gets....His cause, if you will, is to get people to realize that they CAN make a difference in this world, if they only put their minds to it! The trouble is, according to Arlo is that people have come to believe that individually, they don't have the power, means, or opportunity to change squat.....They just assume changes will have to come through government....Yea....And we all know what that's gotten us!
Arlo's philosiphy is this: If we decide to make a difference, one individual at a time, a whole lot of these individuals are gonna find, to their surprise, that they CAN make a difference! And as more & more people realize this and take it upon themselves to make the effort to affect whatever change they can, pretty soon, Government takes notice & says, "Hey!...Look at these guys!....They really care about this!....Maybe we better find out what the're thinking & help this thing move in the right direction!"....And what do you know?!...Pretty soon, you got yourself a movement!
Well.....Something like that....But like Cheryl I believe whole heartedly that every one of us can make a difference, in one way or another. You can begin with just going out of your way to make eye contact with people you encounter during your day. Then...Share a smile, and a kind word....It's amazing how fast that smile & kindness come back at you!...And the hope is that you've initiated a chain reaction.

Well....Something to think about anyway.... :D ....Give it a try!....Mike

Hey, for about 12 years now, I ve been sending stuff about the Worker Ownership of the Mondragon Co-operative to Union Halls and others. It is better than Capitalism runamuck. You have to look at it as though you could make it work from City to Union run City...
Until we(America) leads the world into beating our swords into plowsares, I'll keep asking the UN to impose sanctions on the US. I've met enough small Business owners who feel the same.
Good Day

Hey I should know you from boards but I don't. It's always nice that cyber meeting of the 3rd kind. Another dimension. I've never met anyone who came off as being mad at the Folksinger tho? Or mad at a secretary of people who run the phones at the Guthrie Center. In fact, my experience has been totally oppisite...... I've always got more than my dimes worth on the telephone, either to RSR, or the GC. In fact I called to inquire about a show once, and Abe Guthrie answered the phone. I asked to speak with his Dad, and Abe explained he wasn't there. But Abraham and I had a great conversation, that lasted the better part of 1/2 an hr.... ( We talked of new releases, old shows, which even ran into just plain small talk... I was very impressed that Abe would give me that much phone time, talking bout, stuff..... ( small talk mostly ) I got Abe to laugh loudly a few times, visa-versa.... I guess you could say, we hit it off... I told Abe " I'll tell my friends that I talked with Woody Guthrie's Grandson on the phone this afternoon, and they won't beleive me." Abes reply was " oh yeah, tell em to call me personally, and I'll vouch for you." ( another laugh we shared) He said, give em my number, they'll believe you..... My friends believed me, without any phone calls. But then again they know me in real life..... Always thought that was sweet of Abe, to make that comment tho..... ( my friends are much older than Abe, so I refer to him as Woody's Grandson) Everyone knows Arlo. But when you get that quizzled look, mention Woody, and they say, " oh yeah "...

Yrs. have gone by, since this took place, and I'm happy that Arlo and Family do allot of Woodys stuff.... And talk about the man.... Keeping his spirit alive..... ( people live forever in there songs............ Especially the caliber of the Guthrie clan..) I haven't had to tell that Woody's son story in a long time now it seems....

And Xavier show at the G.C. was one of the best shows I've ever seen or heard.... (2000) they rang in the new millenium, with a bang, of tribute songs, ( Stealin ) and a lil R & R, with some nice ballads to blend it all in...

I miss seeing Xavier, or hearing anything new.... Altho I thoughouly enjoyed seeing & hearing Randy Cormier and pieces of Xavier at the tribute show ( via internet ) for the Katrina victims..... ( New Orleans ) catastrophe :?

Yes, I love checking in here every lil once and awhile, so I can understand, I'm not the only wierdo out there....... To be mad at a Folksinger for not explaining the meaning to a song........

That's absurd...... Being a celebrity must have it's days....

I remember in a John Lennon interview, a woman asking John, " how do you know if you've had a good day or not"?

His reply.... " sometimes lady, I get up, and take a real healthy shit.... If it's a healthy, I'm having a great fucking day!" If it's not, then things just aren't right"..... ( the man had a point ) :D

Piece out/ Rb

PS: Don't take any wooden nickles.... You heard it here first!!!! ha ha ah

Hey I'm repaintin for being mad at the Folk Singer. At the VFW in Littleton we repaint by saying woops, at Forty's Club in Lemon-minister they repaint by saying ooto. and in Fitchburg they say oh shit. Sometimes I feel like I'm at all three places at once, or sometimes I'm still hitching down the middle of Missisippi on route 15 where I got lucky with a Simenole Indian named Janet.
So now I say woops, ooto and oh shit.
I was so sure the Folk Singer paid for the 2 commercials on CMT addressed to number nine. Now I have no idea who did. But some how I think the stuff I sent out about these times got someone's attention. What I was sending out was the revelation I got once about the 7 Pearls of Thunder sealed up in Revelation being rock and roll. other things was how it was always the Lamb's will to beat our swords into Union lead Plowshares.
Good Day
Number Nine or 11
