This may not be the place to air this but it does concern Arlo as the writer of the song. I am sitting on the other side of the Big Pond and have just found this website. I need to ask a favour of anyone of you. It concerns the song "City of New Orleans" and the singer/group in the 1970s who recorded it was I think "Henderson Carter Cargill" on the "Alice Manifold" LP. My younger brother scrapped the copy I originally had (he is still alive by the way) but I have asked in England for help from Rare Record shops etc - but to no avail. The first time I heard it was on BBC Radio Manchester in the early? 1970s.
If anyone can help me buy another copy in whatever shape or form I would like to hear from you.

Maybe you're having trouble because the writer was Steve Goodman, not Arlo, and Arlo is the one whose recording of it made it famous, though it has also been recorded by John Denver, Willie Nelson, and many others. Perhaps a search including Goodman would help. (?) Good luck!

Would this be Henson Cargill? He had out a big country hit in the 60's called SKIP A ROPE. Mike has that record & always liked it. I like it too. Had no idea he did CONO. Haven't heard of Henson Cargill in yrs...
