OK, I suppose Tao (grandson of Pete, which you probably all know) is not quite a legend himself yet, but this seems the most appropriate forum thematically...

Tao is on tour now with a band comprising (when I saw them) Laura Cortese (fiddle and vocals) and Jacob Silver (bass). (There are other members of the band at other shows.) They describe themselves as alt-folk rock 'n' roll; it was more folk-bluegrassy with rock overtones to me, but that may be because I saw the smaller version of the band -- last Monday at Iota Club in Arlington, VA, and it was a great show. (Unfortunately, it had a very small turnout -- only about 10-12 people, including me, I think.)

I didn't keep notes, but offhand, songs included several of his grandfather's (Quite Early Morning, Harry Simms, Waist Deep in the Big Muddy, Well May the World Go), Solo le pido a Dios, and others I couldn't readily identify, but which sounded great. I first saw Tao with Pete and Arlo many many years ago, when he was a teenager -- and several times with them since then -- he's always had a beautiful voice, but really seems go have come into his own.

He's touring around NY this weekend, and then heads back south next week. If you have a chance to see him, I highly recommend it.

Sounds like a good show. Too bad more folks didn't turn out for it. We've seen him & the Mammals with Arlo & they were great...
