Dylan has described how he was offered the chance to look at a lot of Woody's lyrics with, perhaps, the opportunity to add music to them. This was back in the very early 60's, when Bob was an unknown and he'd taken himself off to the Guthrie home in NY. It could be that these were the very same lyrics that Billy Bragg and Wilco would encounter many years later. What do you think of Bob's story? Could it be true? I would have loved to have heard what he may have done with them. Alternatively, perhaps they would not have fared particularly well in the hands of a Woody impersonator. Anyway, the situation ultimately passed Bob by and we had to wait for Bragg and friends.

It's not too late for him to do something with those lyrics. That would be so neat for him to put music to a bunch of Woody songs and record them on album...
