Meic Stevens is a legendary Welsh vocalist/guitarist who was once desribed by Bob Dylan has Britain's greatest songwriter. After a brief period in the mid 60's recording in English, Meic decided to concentrate on writing and performing in Welsh. In many respects, this put pay to a commercially successful career but he ddid go on to become Wales's best loved rock/folk artist. In recent years he has had something of a renaissance, with the likes of Super Furry Animals and Gorky's Zygotic Mynci naming him as a major influence. Meic's best English language music can be found on the album, 'Outlander'.

I write all the above because I'm pleased to say that I saw Meic in attendance at Arlo's Cardiff show on 4th February. Good to see you still around, Meic! Mind you, I also spotted Meic downing a few beers in the pub before the gig, so booze is still a big feature of his life too! Take it easy, Meic, and keep on singing.
