What's a "tab"?

It's a diet soda they used to have in the 60's. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/wink.gif" width=15 height=15> Seriously it's guitar tablature where it lists the fingerings as to where to place your fingers to play on the guitar to play a song & you can play it without the regular music to the song. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>I hope I explained it right. I'm sure someone else will be able to explain it better. I never could figure out tab very well so I play my instruments by music or ear...
