Ah, yes...Star, you have my stamp of approval! Those shows sound simply marvelous! You know how much I loved seeing Richie Havens and Janis Ian during the Wildflower show, so that should be an amazing night.
Odetta, although I haven't been to a show, will knock the socks off of anyone.
I am so happy for you because of the concerts you'll be seeing.

odetta can knock your socks off in more than one way...she is a hard task master..but if you do a good job for her..she gives back love and those little guardian angels for your lapel..cindy and i are so proud of ours we don't wear them for fear of losing them.

LMAO, Todd. I saw her last August, at Fermi (where I saw Arlo, the month before). What a formidable, regal woman. And that was "from the crowd..."

Has anyone seen Joan Baez in concert recently? I just bought some tickets to see her perform in March, and I just wanted to know anyone's experiences. I'm sure she'll be fantastic!
My mom saw her a couple of years ago and said she was amazing. My mom may be biased, though, because Joan Baez is one of her absolute favorites. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

I know Joan had taken some time off from performing to help care for Mimi during her illness. (Rest her soul!)

HomerJ and I have tickets to see her on February 15 at the Egg in Albany! Looking forward to that show!!!

The last (and first) time I saw Joan Baez in concert was at Constitution Hall in D.C. Something terrible had just happened recently, and the end of the world seemed a real enough possibility at the time -- although I cannot for the life of me remember what it was about now. However, at one point during the show Joan went so far as to get down on her knees in prayer over whatever the disastrous events were.

Which I mention only because one day we really will be able to look back on 2001 and say, "Gee, I don't remember that it was so bad, really ... "

I got to see everyone play back then. Odetta too. It was a great time in my life for music. I even got to play with a lot of those people, which was even greater -- even if the world did seem likely to be coming to an end any minute.
