On January 13th 1962, a twenty yr. old Bob Dylan entered NY's WBAI studios to perform on 'Cynthia Gooding's radio program. Nearly forty yrs. later, on November 6th, Smithsonian Folkways Recordings will officially release Dylan's on-air rendition of the traditional "Roll On John" as part of folklorist and musicisan John Cohens's collection There Is No Eye: Music for Photographs. Released over the yrs. on various Dylan bootlegs, "Roll on John" features Dylan, accompanied by his accoustic guitar, singing the somber folk tune with a maturity beyond his years. The record also collects tracts from 'Woody Guthrie', Bill Monroe, Roscoe Holcomb, and Doc Watson.
