don't tell me i am the only Wilson Pickett fan on this site. come on, some of you must have been hunchin in the midnight hour before? or is it just a southern thing you Yankees couldn't comprehend? great soul singers i have witnessed beyong Wilson Pickett. lets see here. Mitch Ryder and the Wheels, those guys could cook! Box Tops, that is some white soul! Johnny Copeland, anybody see that guy or Albert Collins, they say it was Blues but those guys were soulin it (I was a dancin' fool!)! I know, Otis had soul, I only saw it on the movies (Monterey Pop was a hell of a show)! Otis Clay, that guy souled me, great band. And Delbert, if you aint never boogied to Delbert McClinton, you aint never Boogied! But Wilson Pickett, Man that is some kind of soul music. I am shakin' my hips and I am ready baby!!!!! Talk about, 19666!

Edited to say, Don't forget Van the Man and that Irish Soul! (I like the Shadows of Knight but they aint Van the Man,,,, GLORIA now!)

We kids used to love to listen to his Land Of 1000 Dances. I had that record & a few other 45's of him. My friend Debbie had the record of Land Of 1000 Dances & we used to listen to it back then. We still enjoy his stuff. I listen to the local oldies station all the time in the car or either WKBW the oldies channel out of Buffalo...

I didn't realize that he was only 64. He's only 10 years older than me, but I feel like I grew up with him playing on the radio. Well, maybe I did as those later adolescent years are the ones when I really started listening to music. Adios, amigo! Keep on rockin' 'em wherever you may be.
