Anyway today Nov 11 is Veterans Day - I think I'll have a drink tonite for all the ones that never
got to come home - one drink for all - not a drink for each one

May God be with the troops at this time. & Alos our veterans. In Nam many were forced to go who didn't want to to & never came back. So sad... <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/peace.gif" width=16 height=16>

I wish we didn't need veterans

last night i had the strangest dream i ever had before, i dreamed the world had all agreed to put an end to war!

Veterans Day here is called Rememberance Day.
It used to be called Armistice Day. We also have ANZAC DAY on 25th April,to remember the Aussies and New Zealanders who fought together in WW1. It is now a day for all Veterans and there are big marches through cities and towns. But having once cared for Veterans in their old age,for 9 years,6 in a Dementia Unit, I'd like to think people would think about them more than 1 or 2 days a year and maybe go visit some who have no familes, 'cos with red tape, bookwork and budgets (so the CEO's can have their company cars and the computers in the office can have air-co, but not the Veterans), and not enough staff, we never had time to do more than FEED,WASH, PUT TO BED.
I and some of my co-workers, who are still friends, had to get out'cos we couldn't take the stress, frustration and sadness any more. And I'm sure it's the same over there.
