While contemplating some of the TV shows of my childhood the other day, I thought back about the time I saw Robert Conrad, star of "The Wild, Wild West" series at Riverside Amusement Park in Massachusetts way back when. He did most, if not all, of his own stunts back then and even did a dive off of the stage that day onto two stuntmen who were posing as hecklers. Kind of a macho thing to do, I thought. Then I remembered him getting this bad boy image as a tough guy in his off camera life. I think I also read that he was a Republican.

Well, anyhow, I started thinking about well known male celebrities who were Republicans and almost all who came to mind seem to me to have, to some degree, rather agressive personalities. Arnold Schwartzenegger (sp?), Ted Nugent, former prez & CIA chief "King George I" Bush, Charleton Heston (actor, former NRA prez) are a few who come to mind. Then you have people like Alan Alda, Bruce Springstein, Ralph Nader, Jesse Jackson, Country Joe MacDonald, John Fogarty, Steve Earl, and a slew of others who are pro peace and definitely not Republican.

Maybe I'm stereotyping here, but I wonder that, if a study were done, would it be found that a greater than normal average of Republican males as opposed to the rest of the general US male population were found to be overtly aggressive or, as Alan Alda once put it, suffering from "testosterone poisoning"?

I remember John Wayne was a Republican. There was an episode of Maude in which she met Joh Wayne lol. Maude was Edith Bunkers liberal cousin lol. I haven't seen Maude since they took it off of TVLAND tho...
