My first entry is the STUNNING, jaw dropping comment Newt Gingrich made on Fox News Sunday 1-9-05. I can't believe this wasn't on every front page Monday morning, but it just proves that the "liberal media" really isn't.

Gingrich said we need to put God back in public life in a big way, meaning I suppose public school prayer, mandatory pledge, all that jazz. He actually said that any judge who opposes the president on "god" issues should be fired. Our last independent branch of government, meant by our founders as a check and balance, just get rid of it says Newt if they don't agree with Repubs.

Here's a direct quote from the show:

""The Congress and the president have every right to serve notice that judges who don't understand American history and judges who don't understand American culture frankly just need to be retired. You don't need to impeach him. Just retire them."


Can they really "retire" judges who oppose them? He claimed Jefferson did it once in 1802. Seems awfully fascistic to me.

I don't know why this things still shock me and I can not imagine in my wildest dreams how large this string could possibly get!

Here's a couple more to get the ball rolling:

1) The effort to protect Delay by changing the rules (even though they sorta backed off, they wanted it.)

2) The threat of the "nucular option" (Bush spelling) by Bill Frist to procedurally squash any Democratic fillibuster of radical right-wing judicial nominees.

I have a repulican friend that told me yesterday that bush put out a covert threat to nuke Mecca if the us was attacked again. He believes that is the reason there has been no attack.

3. Count em, that's now three journalists who have been caught getting paid by the administration to push right wing propaganda on an unsuspecting american public.

And the sheeple just grab another beer and yawn.

The sheeple do that here too. I especially like it when people here say to me "Why should I care what goes on in the U.S.,it doesn't effect me!"
