Here's an pro-Bush editorial that denounces the entire "Woodstock Generation" as selfish uncaring fools, in Human Events Online

Nevermind that the event had no violence, deaths and births at approximately the same rate as a similar sized city in the same three days, and brought together such a diverse group of people, who for the most part did what they could to help one another.

They obliquely refer to the now-defunct Woodstock Preservation Alliance without mentioning the name, but got the message WRONG, of course.

That really has got to be one the of most small minded, petty, twisted attempts at a vote I think I've ever read.

Might I suggest cutting a photo of a flower from a magazeine, sign it Love Woodstock and post it to him!

This author is clearly a kook & a fearmonger, not to mention incapable of writing a good persuasive essay.

Larry took the words right outta my mouth. I've previously criticized the money that was made in protesting the war, so I won't repeat it here. Yes, the promoters & performers were capitalists. Somebody will hafta explain to me why they were wrong to exploit the anti-war movement & make money while companies like Halliburton are not wrong to exploit people's fears of terrorism & make money.

The author criticizes the gate-crashers who wanted something for nothing. Somebody will hafta explain to me how that's worse than the big companies who lobby endlessly for subsidies & tax breaks.

Finally, he tells us that the kids at Woodstock can't run the country today coz they couldn't feed themselves when they were 18 years old & away from home for the first time? What was this guy doing at 18? Inventing a cure for cancer? Better yet, what was the current President doing at 18?

Well, excuse me, but are musicians supposed to work for free? There are so many jokes about loosing money in the music business that it's not funny.....uh, well, yeah they are, really. I mean, they're jokes! But you know what I mean. I remember hearing years ago that The Dead were loosing money from hauling around that humongous PA system that Owsley designed for them!

As far as the chicken-hawk references went, they were directed at Bush & his cabinet boys who never saw combat (or even served in some cases) but were quick to send our National Guard troops in harm's way. It was never directed at the troops.

And Country Joe served in Nam! What's that coming down on him all about?!? He's still fightin' the good fight. If you haven't seen his website yet it's www.countryjoe.com

What the hell's going on in this country?

Grrr! Arrrgh!
