Fellow blunderites,

This is personal, perhaps too personal for the boards, but it's something I need to share.

Yesterday the world lost a good soul, but few will note her passing. I lost my Aunt Jackie at 92. She was one of the people Woody sang to, for, and about. Her parents were poor West Texas farmers from the 1890s until they moved to town in the 1950s. When she was little, the family drove a covered wagon to Carlsbad Caverns. She and my mom rode a horse to school every day. After she retired, she flew in jets all over the country, to Hawaii and to Europe. She experienced it all in between.

Jackie had a strong pioneer spirit and a kind heart. Weighing in at 71 pounds, she, besides my mom, was the toughest and sweetest lady I have ever known.

Your good thoughts today could help with the big hole that's in my heart.

my condolences on your loss ceashel...and thank you for sharing some wonderful history of your family. i happen to think that no one is actually "gone" as long we keep them alive in our hearts.

Nothing's too personal for us. So sorry about your loss. I wish you peace. Arlo has mentioned something to the affect that no one really dies, they're still hanging around us. As long as you remember someone in your heart, they are never gone.
