He virtualy single-handedly saved an entire nation from tearing itself apart. A true world leader.

"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” - Nelson Mandela

I just want to add a portion of President Obama's tribute to Nelson Mandela

“He achieved more than could be expected of any man,” Obama said. “Today he’s gone home. We’ve lost one of the most influential, courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this earth. He no longer belongs to us. He belongs to the ages.

RIP Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela appeared to me in a dream last night smoking a large Cuban cigar.

"Tell them I am dead."
 he directed.
"Sure they know you are dead."
 I insisted.
"Ah, my Irish friend, they won't believe you, when you tell them." he declared smiling.

Inhaling deeply as he boxed the stars and turning back towards me for the last time wearing a cheeky boy grin he whispered his last farewell.
"Tell them I like Danish pastry too."

Peace & huggies

Was that Mandela or Obama in that dream?

The large Cuban cigar could be Obama's acknowledgment of Raoul Castro with the now famous handshake. The Danish pastry could, of course, be a reference to Obama's selfie that he took with the rather attractive Danish head of state by his side as Michelle stood by a bit taken aback.

Amazing what a simple wee handshake between political strangers can do in growing a mustard seed of goodwill and perhaps change for the better for all concerned. Maybe we are all a handshake away from peace and goodwill. Imagination works wonders when you imagine the impossible - who knows maybe even a world working better together for peace, justice and prosperity for Allkind.

May Madela's spirit of Peace and goodwill shine forth from where ever he is and to where we shall all end up!

PS. i wonder if Eddie Snowden will get a free pass back to his family? Will President shake his hand with a Pardon and thank him for revealing what we all may have been thinking but were not in the know? (Mr Snowden probably already knows the answer to that one. Well the spooks do plan ahead don't they)

Happy days and well done Cuba and USA! :)

Well, well well. From a wee handshake to the raising of the flags. Is this end of a bad news story and the beginning of what should have been all along? Flags are flags, people are people and presidents can be Presidents. Maybe we just witnessed Leaders leading towards a better direction that day. Nice flags but expect flesh on the bones will tell.

:D
