My crazy idea...I'm asking a lot, I know...
Please list your primary concerns and issues that our country faces and you feel need to be addressed by our new p/e (in an open forum as opposed to a w like secret FOIA proof cabal - cheney energy policy) Prioritize them by importance.

Mine follow...

Economics/economy

National security/war

Environmental

w Damage reversal

Then start to fill each of these catagories include as many topics as you can think of also prioritized by importance...

Economics/economy - national economic health, debet reduction, s.s., health care, infrastructure, ties into enviro.

National security/war - Understanding what is possible or not in the M/E and Asia via force or aid. We have kicked a very large hornets nest for a long time, now what? Who should we fear and what should we do? Ties into econ. and damage reversal.

Enough for now. Anyone care to join in?

Go Barak.

A big one:
Raising our respect level in the rest of the global community. We should not worry about being a "superpower" as much as being a
"supermember" of that group.

A small one:
Resurrecting passenger rail service in this country, especially high-
speed corridor service where appropriate and feasible.

Ya'll have some good idea to discuss there. Although I'm sure our viewpoints on them probably differ... :)

Feed the hungry. Respect women's rights to their own body. Educate the children. Take care of the elderly, with respect and dignity. Help the poor help themselves out of the hole they're in through education and job training. Build levees, not walls between neighborly nations. Keep people employed...don't ship their job off to a foreign nation. Fix the broken health care system. Make peace, not war. Give people hope that tomorrow will be a better day.

All of the above for my requests, with only one little one to add. Whatever you do, just don't fuck it up like the last guy! ( Pardon my French)

Love it....and I'll add, a president who can speak in complete sentences and doesn't look like a deer stuck in the headlights everytime he's asked a difficult question!
I'm concerned about the economy, environment, women's rights, the future of our schools, safety of our country......a very tall order to fill for the next president.
GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY!!!!

All of the above, please, plus

Please fix our broken Constitution and strengthen it against future assaults.

Please appoint judges able to understand the law in the modern context and apply the law with an appropriate balance of justice and mercy.

Oh yeah, and keep a copy of "My Pet Goat" handy at all times, so you may refer to it if the country is under attack.

DRR: were you a "fly on the wall" in my classroom yesterday? That's tomorrow's assignment for my 8th graders! They will choose one issue and research it on the Internet. They will draft a letter to the pres-elect describing their hopes for him to do his best to... [that issue].

We seem to be like minded. We need this. I just hope this p/e has ears. The present one has none for most issues. His way or the hiway, and stay the course - no matter how wrong.
