Someday maybe the majority of people in this country will understand that the internal threats from poor,self-serving and incompetent elected leaders are a worse threat than some terrorist groups.If we end up eating ourselves up from the inside, they don't have to do it from the outside.

In my Mind, this Land is basicly built, so as far as Construction Workers go (Which I'm One) their work will be more than cut in half. No One up there in Power even see that trouble coming, so THEY aren't even looking for solutions.

Seems like things like this are always a continuous problem in this country. For instance what ever happened to the war on poverty? I haven't forgotten about it. Don't seem to quiet remember any politician declaring that over. I mean we still have a shamefull number of poor in this country. Seems like the government and the citizens as well have forgotten about it. I understand that by being world leaders we have to perhaps atempt to help, not destroy, the rest of the world. But Americans have got to help Americans as well. There are programs out there to help those in need but the issue seems to have lost importance in regards to the government. Just a thought..

Bush seems to have more important wars to fight. While wasting billions of dollars and thousands of lives on a war of choice in Iraq, he is set to veto the childrens health insurance bill because it's too expensive.

Even the republicans are calling him an idiot for doing this. The house lost by only 15 votes to make it veto proof. That hardly gives him any kind of mandate to veto. As Einstein said "there are 2 infinites, the universe and human stupidity". Bush et al seem to choose the latter, consistently. "Ignorance is bliss" is only a useful excuse for so long. As long as the country continues to "sleep" I guess it works for them. What creeps me out is to see Romney in the lead in Iowa and Obama and Hillary for the Dems. Romney vs. Obama or Hillary...does not sound good. Romney smothered a feisty woman in the gov. race in true blue Massachusetts. He's slicker than WD-40. Too Bad Richardson/or more radically Ron Paul (I see alot of hand painted homemade Ron Paul signs around here....the guy does speak the truth..something that transcends political affiliations) have not got any traction, It must be all about the $$$$. Mitt has plenty of that stuff, more than anyone else in the running.

You know after the scandalous election (Florida) and with the way the present administration has handled itself for the past couple of terms I swore to myself that I would never vote republican again. Mind you, I did not vote for Bush in this last election. Anyhow, I never have heard of Ron Paul until I started visiting these forums. So I have been giving him my ear and so far he sounds like an honest guy but he needs more exposure up here in NH if he is going to have any kind of a chance. So far up here the democrats have been leading the show. I was leaning toward Hilary but her recent voting history has been raising some flags with me. It sure would be great to have someone leading this country that actually looks out for "everyone" rich or poor.

Ron Paul certainly doesn't consider women to be human beings worthy of full human rights. Don't get me started on Ron Paul. It won't be pretty.

Well now I am glad you opened my eyes to that Ceashel. I will certainly keep my ears and eyes open to such things from him. Equality for everyone is very important and we certainly do not need anyone leading this country who does not beleieve in equality. Civil liberties are already being tested as it is and we certainly don't want to make things worse than they already are. I will be listening and watching very closely.... Thank you for the caution flag..

It's not surprising that you didn't know. His pres. campaign seems to have been crafted to appeal to moderate Republicans (is that an oxymoron?) and Dems and avoiding some topics he's been more vocal on in the past in Texas.

It was Edwards who says Unions are the best anti-poverty system out there.
Just think of Unions spreading out the wealth. Instead of what has happened since Reagon-where he cut the tax on the wealthy by over 70%.

Finally, had the chance to be able to read the article about Hunt's involvement in Iraq. My first thought was well first there was Haliburtin and now it is this Hunt guy. The evidence just keeps mounting that proves that we lost the true focus in obtaining justice after 9/11. Bin Ladin roams free and the Bush gang is digging for gold while our children fight for oil. We need to refocus and go and get Bin Laden but then again isn't there a Bush family tie there too? This whole thing that is going on in this part of the world really worries me as my son has expressed interest in joining. I can hold him off for a couple of years but he will be turning 18 and there wont be a thing that I can do about it. Lets just hope that the world comes to its senses by then.

I think that I did that. Of course there is more to the war in Iraq. We all know that but was Iraq ever a real threat to the U.S.? I once believed in why we went over there but I can honestly say that I do not believe now. There was never any proof that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. So therefore the only conclusion would be that we are there for oil.
