I was sad to hear of Syd Barretts passing. Apparently he died of compications of diabetes.... A cruel and most painfull death, what I've seen in my lifetime

Ntm" Syd's afterlife, of leaving Pink Floyd, with some form of Mental Illness... I can relate..... I guess it's good, I'm not a Rock Star.. As the two malidy's don't neccesarily go hand in hand....

To Pink Floyds Founding member, again, RIP: Your HOME, & " Shine On You Crazy Diamond"

Piece out / RB

So sad he died of diabetes. It is killing so many people. I sit & watch my hubby Mike & myself get eaten by diabetes. Sure hope they find a cure soon. RIP...

Upon his release, Spence made his masterpiece, "Oar," in Nashville. This solo disc, on which Spence plays every instrument, is perhaps the strongest psyched-out legacy of the time -- dark, harrowing and mad, the American answer to Syd Barrett (Pink Floyd's similarly crazed first guitarist). "Oar" sank like a stone upon release and became the quintessential cult disc. A tribute to "Oar" will be out sometime this year, featuring Beck, Tom Waits, REM and the Grape's biggest booster, Robert Plant, doing numbers from it.

from Skip's obit
just to make sense out of the Skip Spence reference if you didn't get it
