Kerry was on meet the press this morn. Still like the guy, I think he'd make a great prez. Yeah, he's stiff, but I think he'd be better on the economic stuff, which is really *the* issue. Dean talks a good game on the social stuff, but he's actually fairly conservative economically. I want more taxes, more social spending, more regulation on business, much more environmental progress. Kucinich ain't happenin, Gephardt maybe, Edwards only if he kicks it in high gear, and Lieberman's a Republican. So we got Dean and Kerry. At least Kerry is a guy I could vote for without holding my nose.

All i know is, Republican control of this country sure is makin me....well....irritable.

He has NO insight at all about global warming. France should be a subtle hint of what's to happen to future generations, if we don't stop now!!!

It goe's on & on & on. Sex must be good for the brain, as at least Clinton had some ideas (morals) when it came to clean air, & cheaper schooling. Have you seen the raise in the cost of tuition???? SO MANY budgets have been cut, 'just' in my area, it leaves kids with little choices....Trade school, not. Working at McDonalds or selling drugs. It used to be a two way st. I see that path narrowing everyday. Tell me it's just not me?

It's not just you, rb, but of late, there seems to have been a serious 'disconnect' in Amerika's collective braincell between knowing what's wrong and acknowledging who might have made it so bad. A lot of people WANT the Rs to be "Daddy"--wise and knowing what's best for us; ergo, that's what they perceive them to be. It relieves them of a lot of personal responsibility, like, you know, from having to think about things. Ceashel thanx for your follow up post! It really made me feel good. To feel good about being right, the worlds heading for a shit=bucket gives me mixed emotions. But to have a friend come out & say ya, your not far off there. Well lets just say it means the world.

At this point, I agree with lcj; Kerry could be a relatively odor- and w-free candidate; or the other possibility for a compromise candidate might be Dean. Whoever it is needs to come up with something fresh so he/she's not just a compromise candidate: a plan (pardon the expression) that will inspire people to imagine real change. I dunno. What I remember about Kerry is that he voted for the war. Dean stood up against it. Move On is backing Dean. I also heard Dean (with my own two ears) say that if he didn't win the nomination, we all need to fall in line and support whoever does, because the main issue is to defeat W...did you ever notice war starts with a W???

Wesley Clark with either declare or not within the next couple of weeks. That'll be interesting.

I think with politicians you need to look at their record to see where anyone really stands.
Howard Dean served as Governor of Vermont for ten years.During his leadership he has shown that he is strong on healthcare coverage,strong on environment issues,while encouraging business growth and creating new jobs.He has shown that he is sympathetic to the average working families.He has no sympathy for perpretrators of violent crime.
He has shown that he can manage a large budget,(he paid off an inherited $70 million deficit),while decreasing taxes for the average working family.His state has one of the lowest rates of uninsured in the country.Dean is one of the few who is not afraid to state his opposition to the war in Iraq,which has already wasted billions of American $s and thousands of lives,with no end in site(no matter what "W" says,Iraq IS the Viet Nam of our time even if it is on a smaller scale of casualties,American soldiers
are still being killed).John Kerry voted for the War in Iraq.(That in itself says a lot).Bottom line is,we need someone with the balls to speak out against "W" and his
cohorts and who has a proven record to back up his words.If anyone can show me a better person for the job than Dean please do,but be prepared to back them up with a proven record.

Now even his 'friend' Tony Blair is getting bashed for siding with him in the first place. Clark's positions on everything seem to be pretty liberal. At least as liberal as Dean in general. If he declares it'll be in a week or so - probably the 19th, but should be after the 15th in any case. I think both he and Dean on the ticket would be pretty killer and would be a real challenge in the election.
