Heraclitis just proved what I've been saying concerning atheists and 3 year olds. I gave him the alkane-alcohol diesagreement. An adult would respond in a courteous manner. A 3 year old will almost invariably say something to the extent of "No it's not!" I've asked the guy a straight forawrd question about something as simple as whether a bowl of Jello will gel before a substantially larger quantity, same temperature in the same refridgerator. Like the classic atheist, the simple question is sidestepped.

Yeah, I think it is visions of John seeing what is to come in the end times.

And I think it is John a pissed off Jew who believes in Jesus. He is pissed off because:

1. The Greeks had turned Israel into a vassal state.
2. The Romans came in to take over from the Greeks.
3. The Romans got pissed off the found the Jewish people a pain. They didn't want to pray to the Roman gods (i e they didn't want to pay taxes, taxes could be assessed when people met their prayer requirements).
4. Romans even tried to make a deal saying you don't have to pray to the gods as long as you pay taxes. Worked for a while, but you know..the Romans wanted more control and the Jewish people remained a pain.
5. Romans came in and practiced war for a while in Israel. They killed or exiled a bunch of people and burned Jerusalem!
6. Those Jews that hit the road saw the dominance of the Roman gods everywhere. The Jewish god just got his ass kicked by the Roman gods who were out looting and whoring and generally having a good time all over the place.
7. John was one of those exiled people looking for Jesus to come back as the vengeful messiah and overturn the tables (it was going to happen any day now, what they kept saying, going to happen in my lifetime (that was back then you see)).
8. So, Jesus is lollygagging in heaven. That pisses John off! Then he hears news from the coasts of Turkey and Greece and learns there is some guy named Paul telling Greeks and Romans they can be Christians. Greeks and Romans who have been pissing on Israel for centuries. They don't even have to cut off their foreskins (imagine that).
10. There is only one conclusion, PAUL IS THE ANTICHRIST. THE WALRUS IS PAUL!

Ethylene is not the same as polyethylene. Ethylene is the monomer of polyethylene. In poly ethylene terms, ethylene is monoethylene. Polyethylene is made by polymerizing ethylene. So you take a whole bunch of ethylenes and hook them together in a chain to make polyethylene. I think the process is to heat ethylene gas in the presence of a transition metal catalyst. The point is you didn't know what you were talking about and now you are obsessing on it.
