Palin is scary---mostly because ALOT! of people are listening to her. I live so hard to be tolerant and non-judgemental but.....the way this election seems to be going, and with what's at stake, not just for America but the whole planet---how can the polls even be close, let alone fifty-fifty?---I have come to believe that there are two kinds of people: those who think McCain/Palin should be in charge, and those who have a functioning brain!---there, I said it! I'm growing weary of political correctness when it comes to the BS I've been hearing and I'm not sorry one bit that I said it, but I do apologize if I pissed any of my brothers and sisters in this group off. Peace!!! and Hope!!!

I can't wait for the debates. If it goes as it should, Biden should eat Palin alive, and Obama should outthink and outspeak McCain on Issues, however McCain may land alot of flag waving points.

If Obama and Biden don't drop the ball, the debates should be the deciding factor.

McCain is trying to steal the Obama "Change" theme. It may work with some undecided republicans, but I think the independants will see though it. The theme stealing and the Palin choice scream desperation and panic. Do we need that in leadership?

People were overjoyed to be in a nearby bar that captured the excitement, as there was no sitting , standing or loitering room for anyone who showed up for a 7 pm event much past 10 am, or so.

it is hard for me to recall a time when i was more disillusioned about the political process. I appreciate the fact that you guys take this all so seriously but I see Black People voting for a Black Person (and there will obviously be White People who vote for a White Person), a serious fight over the vagina vote and White Males (and Jewish Males) thinking about a VPILF. In the mean time the Economy of the world seems to be crashing, the environment is shifting into a major non equilibrium equipoise and Nationalist Religious Fruitcake Fundamentalism still persists as the overiding descriptor of human nature leading us to the end of days in our minds and a real Armegeddon in the Middle East as we debate the price of oil. and now we have LIPSTICKGATE?

I agree. It would be silly if it wasn't so serious, if there wasn't so much riding on the line. I'm not at all surprised at the WMD's---weapons of mass distraction---that we've become so accustomed to during the last two elections. But I continue to be shocked that such a large portion of the population buys into it. I guess that I just don't want to accept that so many people are idiots. I can always rely on the christian extremists to fall into that catagory, but, if you can believe the poll numbers, idiots are everywhere!!

PSB, maybe this is our time like the one for our folks (grandfolks for some), when they, and the whole world, were already impoverished and seeing themselves soon to be enslaved by Nazis; I can't imagine. Our great-great-greats+ saw their freedoms dissolve, and fought with few resources against their own country and king; the most powerful on Earth. There were those enslaved by our very own country and Constitution, and those against it but unable to end that enslavement. We may say, but this time it is the WHOLE world endangered and at risk. For all of them, it was their whole world, too. It may and likely will get worse before it gets better, but can what we feel really be any greater than their feelings were? I have to take these country and world crises seriously, and I have to have hope that it can be better. So this time we have first to fight media distortion* and apathy and the lipstick wars before the real work can start. Whether or not we can prevail remains to be seen--for Native Americans, the war was fought bravely, but their world and many of their people did disappear--but if we don't try, the outcome is certain.

"Someone" said "Who'd believe that we're the ones asked to try to rekindle the patriots' dreams." I'm standing out in the field and pointing the way for as many people as I can ('scuse the mixed metaphors). What little I can do may not be enough, but it's worth doing.

If the actual policies of John McCain and Sarah Palin aren’t enough to convince you, that if elected they will be 4-8 more years of George Bush, maybe this will. McCain and Palin are proving, that they have learned from the Bush administration, that truth is not as important as perception.

So… Even if you’re o.k. with four more years of a Bush economy.

Even if you’re o.k. with four more years of Bush healthcare (crisis) policy.

Even if you’re o.k. with four more years of Bush foreign policy and the Iraq war.

Even if you’re o.k. with four more years of Bush corporate welfare.

Even if you’re o.k. with skyrocketing gas prices.

Even if you’re o.k. with eroding women’s rights.

Even if the last eight years of the Bush administration have served you well…How do you feel about four more years of lies and deception? Are you o.k. with that? Just in case you are not o.k. with that, you should know how much lying and deception has been going on in the last ten days.

McCain and Palin are not just more of the same Bush policies, they are more of the same Bush deceptions. Is this really what you want for the next four years?
