For once and for all (wishful thinking on my part), musicians, singers & songwriters are not prophets or heralds sent down by some cosmic wazoo in the heavens. They're just folks like us who are tryin' to make sense out of our little existences on the big blue, white and wet marble in space. Yes, they're better at expressing themselves and putting thoughts down on paper than most of us are (well, there are exceptions on both sides) but they're just folks tryin' to string words together and express ideas.

John Lennon and Jim Morrison have passed from this "mortal coil" and, if they still exist in some form, are well beyond the physical sphere we call life. Their words and music remain behind and still influence and inspire, but they're gone and don't care much for getting into politics or the messes we've made here. And if Steve Miller is anything like he was when I saw him on Chip Monck's show "Speak Easy" (waaaay back in the early 70s) then he's more into making a living doing what he does than he is about being some mystic Mag.

Ain't gonna be no magic solution to all of the crap that's goin' on and has always been goin' on in the world of people. There's too many people with too many different agendas, most all of 'em thinkin' that their way is the right way. Look at the three biggie religions. All of 'em had their prophets, saviors, wise people, etc. and all of 'em are still tryin' to wipe the other ones out. Thousands of years have passed and they (or we) still don't get it. Vote, write (email) your politicos or join a committee or volunteer or run for office or protest or do what you can and do what you can do best. If that be singin', do it. If that be raisin' tomatoes, do that. Just don't expect some abracadabra, magical cosmic event to happen, or some guy from the planet Krypton or a singer/songwriter from East Buttsquat to come save the world. It's taken millions of years for us to screw it up this bad and it'll probably take us a lot more to straighten it out (if that's ever even gonna be possible)! Just do what you can and quit putting so much on musicians!

And, Wheezie! Keep the chooks away from DC and all of the elected flying monkeys! They're better off in Oz!

Oh, Steve Miller found a new way that Arlo sings about in Doors of Heaven. We all came down here from above. To bad Zap, you don't know where that was at. Or that the people wern't ready for that. That song Space Cowboy, was about these end times, called the last days.
Arlo is more tuned in than you give him credtit for. He knew there was a prophet groaning alone at the end of Prologue. Zap, I doubt you ever heard those word were there.

I heard from above that the 7 peals of thunder sealed up in Revelation 10 are Rock and Roll. What is a new thing to this world in the last 100'ed years that ain't Rock and Roll. I mean philisophic.
I was writting my brother about hte good things that could happen to this world, if we beat our swords into plowsahares. Like the lion laying down with the calf. And the bear eating straw like the ox. And into my head popped this thought about the 7 pealls of thunder. I wrote it down just as it came to me. And I knew right awy who they were.
Things are so bad Zap, you would knock anyone, even Arlo... Until people get behind these singers they have made rich, nothing will change.

I am hardly knocking Arlo. Nor am I distorting things to suit an agenda. But I do try to use "spell check" every so often.
