Where else but here could you have a " Smurf vs. Mongo" match and have it be a fair fight? I love this place! I mean they tried it with "Bambi vs. Godzilla" and they couldn't make it work, but WE can!!! WOO-HOO!!

I've met both Mongo and Smurf and if I had to take one in a fair fight (sorry Mongo but she out cutes You, out smarts you and she scares me a lot more than your 320 lbs) I'd have to put my money on the Smurf (plus she has Fitzy working her corner). Take out his knees first Smurf.

Whoa, as we say in Texas! Let's not be accused of ganging up on someone. Not here, not now. I state for the record that this is not a concerted effort to attack anyone for any reason. Just a lot of people who feel the same way about some things.

Besides, the thread is about a trip or trips. Pat, Todd, Arnie, Larry: You've convinced me it's maybe not a bad idea. I will wait until "the coast is clear," if it ever is, and try on the suggested boards. Thanks, Pat!

In the meantime, in case you didn't see it elsewhere (and because I'm really excited about it), I want to tell you I'm surprising my sweetie with tickets to the concert in St. Louis, with an overnight trip from Dallas, a hotel suite, and patron tickets to the concert, for our 21st anniversary. The concert is ON our anniversary.

We couldn't go to New York because our niece's daughter is going in the Navy that weekend, and we want to see her off. She's a very special person. I'm sort of glad we couldn't make the Carnegie and are going to the Sheldon--I think the St. Louis concert will be really cool. Check out the info. on the Sheldon Concert Hall. It's pretty special all by itself.

I'll do my best to keep a set list and tape if I can without causing any problem or offending the folksinger. Let me know if you are going, too.

And let me know if you'd back a polite request for a trip.

However I am not looking for a fight. Perhaps I found one by accident, but I was not looking. I was simply having fun. (Doing the same thing I took the first post to be doing).
As far as the insinuations and ‘name calling’ all I can say is I’m sorry you feel that way.

No need to request it. Speculation is enough. If it's on the Arlo boards he'll read it eventually and might think about it. Whether he ever does it or not would probably just depend on...oh, Guthrie kinds of things. You don't want to go there and hurt your brain. It would be interesting to speculate, though.

The Sheldon concert sounds great. Carnegie is wonderful, but I bet none of us would choose that one if we had to give up most of the others. It gets pretty hectic.

For anyone who was wondering.....the capability to edit on the boards is only disabled once a person has shown a propensity to return to old posts and edit (and frequently re-edit) them beyond recognition, often making the entire thread within which they appear somewhat un-intelligible. Most people on the boards can edit their posts, and will continue to retain that capability as long as it isn't abused.
