I know planning is a Slytherin kind of thing to do, but I just need to be sure...Sunday, Dec. 2, Eastern time?

Sherry, you will be sorely missed.

I'll be glad to help with a summary. I'm a chat room neophyte because it seems I'm usually online when no one else is. I'm not sure how it works technically, but it seems to me that Adobe Acrobat (full program; not the reader) should be able to capture a chat room discussion verbatim. How long does the discussion remain available? 'Till the last one leaves? When the Wizard decides? If Acrobat can capture it, I can do that.

Cea, there are all kinds of settings you can play around with on the chat program. At one time I think there were even chat archives. May still be. You may not even need Acrobat. If you use AOL you can choose to log your entire time online from the main toolbar (click on "File"). Otherwise, your default text editor can probably be set for logging.

Thanks for the invite, Rb. Will be there if I can. BTW, I've been sorted into Gryffindor already. Anyone else who's been accepted at Hogwart's can find the Sorting Hat at: http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/diagonalley/index.

yes Ceashel...12/2 at 8:00 eastern.

Hope you can make it muffy!

This is for now....In future reads (meetings) maybe will be a bit later, for our friends who are an hr. behind.....

This will be another first (sorta). If I remember right, we ended our meetings when we ran out of things to say... Usually ending up in Blunderchat, afterwords, for a bit! Some of those blunderites LOVE to talk.

Don't fret just yet. Could be that Dobby's blocking you for some reason known best to himself, or ... well, lots of things happen in Diagon Alley that are a little hard to explain ... It could even be a (temporarily, one hopes,) broken link. I mean, it does happen sometimes. I'll go investigate, though, see what I can do. Been wanting to drop by again, anyway.

Got 'Goblet of Fire', am rarin' and ready for Sun. 2nd 8pmEST at Moose Crossing. Now, if I can just remember all that ...

Ceashel or anyone, please do a summary if you can. I can't make the book chat (am still waiting to have an ISDN line installed at home--no cable where I live, and satellite is toooooo expensive). I'll look forward to your witty repartee and scathingly brilliant remarks.

Sherry, you shouldn't be having any problems with the links. If you use or get on Netscape at all, that may be the problem. Sometimes an isp will redirect you back into its own system to look for pages that aren't there. Anyway, make sure that the url address in the address bar remains the same as the one on the link. If it doesn't, copy the correct address, paste it into the address bar, and try again.

I think it would be safe to say, our meeting for tonight should be postponed. Fan and myself have been held hostage all wk. end. by one HUMUMGUS giant clam. (Did someone feed it steroids...

Due to that factor, and reasons beyond my controll, will Cya all, next time. Same place. Same time. We'll come up with a date, we're blunderites right? Don't let Larry try n tell you, he's herding cats.......

*Sue's working (yes on Sun) and at noon I'm off to Syracuse(Mall). for Xmas is coming and the goose is getting???? presents

i heard rumors that blunderchat was down...i guess that could cause a small problem when trying to have a meeting...

this is what happens when blunderites try to have a plan! LOL

do we want to consider an aol buddy chat room? or just wait til our room is working again? anyone with aol's instant messenger should be able to do a chat room...just a thought.....

happy shopping rb!

It would be better for me if we postpone it. You're right, Sherry, we committed the sin not only of planning, but of planning WAY ahead. I'm still looking forward to my first BBC gathering, whenever it may be.

Just made it home. Ended up in Watertown, instead. Shopping wasn't bad. This is a twist of fate tho, as another nite, would surely be better. We'll be waiting to see what happens to chat, meahwhile, I'll tackle 'Goblet of Fire'.....

Seemed funny, the stores not so much bustling. But with that said, peoples spirits seamed high....Not Christmassy tho. Hard to explain????

For next time we could always consider having a "plan B". Like say, having an alternate meeting place? Maybe an AIM chat room? Or meeting in another available chat room on the net? Hey, it's just an idea.

Enjoy "Goblet of Fire" RB. I'm in the middle of it now. It's hard getting used to the idea that they're all in fourth year already. That's a year ahead of where the twins were when this whole thing got started. My, but they do grow up fast, don't they? Yiiiiii!

Here's an excellent--actually, overwhelming--resource on all things Potter. Someone has WAY too much time on their hands.

... and I thought I goofed and missed the meeting (got home last nite at around 10, and didn't bother to put the computer on)

Hey... HomerJ has a website with a chatboard, that we could use as an alternate location. I'll talk to him about it...see if we need to do anything special to use it.

I'll let you know the addy after I talk with him...

Gonna go get sorted this morning!

Laters!
