Folks....isn't Dave violating the Arlonet user agreement about profanity in post titles ? I mean would he let one of us post something like that directed at Bush or Rush or anyone. Perhaps I'm mistaken and he is not abusing his power as webmaster to dominate Arlonet with his political frustrations,...which has increased significantly since last November. Barely heard a peep out of the guy before that.

Good question. The title surprised me. I've seen similar frustration on other blogs from the right and particularly the extreme right. I saw the same from the extreme left during the election, in fact, was surprised just how violent they were allowing themselves to get in their support for Obama, but I chalked it up to the intense fear the had of Bush and Company. Whaddaya gonna do?

My disappointment is the press. We not only no longer know the truth; we can't get the truth. That leaves us with the most partisan of all sources: the Internet.

I get Dave really. One of the problems of the election was selling Obama as an antidote to something rather than as a vitamin for something. That's the best I can do to describe it. In a way his campaign almost perfectly mirrored the "On the Bus or Off the Road" philosophy that typified the evangelicals. That is making it possible now for the Big Tent Republicans to pull the poles closer together and go after races in New York, Virginia, Florida and so on. Even Atlanta.

They left themselves no room to fail or even fall a little short. There is a price for that kind of self-assured arrogance in politics and entertainment.

I was thinking as I was editing that last video how to get across the image of "hey, not perfect, sometimes awkward, sometimes in need of maintenance, wanting, but at every level, organic, mostly kind, people who care about each other and this old church", the power of family and small places and lots of hugs.
