This is good information. I signed a petition that I hadn't seen before and passed the info on to some groups I belong to. More banks than we thought!!

this is not what i heard:

“The Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) was re-routed through the Standing Rock Reservation after Bismarck's mostly-white residents refused to allow it near their water supply.”

http://www.snopes.com/dapl-routed-throu ... s-said-no/

this is what i heard:

“First, the pipeline would cross right under the Missouri River at Lake Oahe, half a mile north of the reservation. A leak or spill could send oil directly into the tribe’s main source of drinking water. The tribe points out that Dakota Access originally considered a route farther north, upstream of Bismarck, but the company rejected that route, in part, because of the close proximity to the state capital’s drinking-water wells.”

Looks like it's stopped! YAY!

The US Army Corps of Engineers rejected the current route for a controversial oil pipeline crossing in North Dakota, a major victory for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and environmentalists who had staged months of protests. Read more about the Dakota Access Pipeline: http://u.afp.com/4UHE

Yea, I agree. They will reroute it somewhere else or keep drilling and pay the fines. They've spent a lot of money to get it to where it is right now. They won't give up, IMHO.

i was thinking about accuracy in reporting and the fairness doctrine again.
fairness doctrine introduced in 1949, then became a casualty of the reagan administration 1987, language implementing doctrine formally removed in 2011.

*note*
at the close of the interview bernie sanders’ response (to whether or not he would attend the inauguration) sort of glitches out or something. according to the transcript included in this article (link below), his response was, “yes”
