Continued support is a mainstay!!! Thanks so much folks! As you might guess, it means so very very much. Part of me (the part that can't be helped) (chemical imbalance) makes it easy to feel so much alone. Your reminder that 'NO ONE' is in anything alone sure helps! & day 21. I would of never thought, as I've quit counting. Altho I'm sure I'll celebrate with something good, when a long time-span has elapsed. It's hard to reward myself with food, as my throat is either hurting or tasting numb from sucrets! I'll try the Licorice tho. It won't go to waste as Sue (wife) loves it.

I quit smoking tobacco some 6 yrs. ago. During the HD walk I did smoke a pack of Newports tho. (maybe to twart off the cumpulsion to smoke weed)???? It was short lived, and after a couple more packs I quit again cold turkey. The weed thing was a work in progress!

I can say tho,in all honesty, that was the first concert (let alone Arlo & friends) that I didn't get high, before, during or after. David Crosby is right, in his quote. "Drugs don't enhance lifes moments, or make you play or hear better". It's all a bunch of crap a person gets caught up in, thinking it so!" )paraphrasing David

But it's true. I'm keeping on the right road. Inch by Inch...

Tx again for ALL the support. Hey if I can get thru this (and I'm not in denial. I REALIZE it'll take allot of time) anyone can.

Don't let the chemical imbalance scare you, or hinder your decision! I've been in therapy for over a decade, and you might say that is one thing, I'll never give up. (bad perscription for anyone with manic-depression to drop out of therapy, JUST BECAUSE they feel good) Ironic as that sounds.

Arnie, thanks for keeping it light. I admire your ability to do that. I've seen it with lots of your friends, and it's an ability, I admire. (& appreciate) Even tho we only met long enough to shake hands, I've thought of you often.....(now aint life wierd of the Arlo Fans)??? Nah, kidding, I guess it's that way with all of us, in some obtuse way???

Another reason I keep bringing up the alone part Arnie, is I'd rather talk my life's troubles (or storys) here. In another wierd way I actually get more support. NTM: Nothing worse than being fodder for your hometown! Family (immediate) is the worst! Least for this Folky. Never meant to be that way, God knows I wish it wasn't!!!!

hey there RB...I'm a long-time-lurker. I used to hang out in blunderchat when it was more populated. Never really took to posting on the boards, though. Something about your journey toched me. Good luck with quitting all that stuff. I ache for the strengh to quit cig's, and applaud your fortitude.

Sometimes it sure is easier to talk out problems around here than it is at home. But give your family another chance down the road when you're stronger. You can't replace them, for better or worse, and...well...they're family after all.

Pat Rainey: Your so right. Family is everything. Especially the over extended ones, like, the likes of these board members! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15> But immediate, and family in general shouldn't be taken for granted.

I explained to Wyldflower, about my family, and however dysfunctional it is, I haven't let go of that immbillical chord as of yet. It's hard coming from a large family tho, as people move on, have thier own familys, own dreams, ect. ect. My nephew lives a few miles from Wyld, and we stay in touch (via internet) so that's cool. Now I (Sue & I) want to go visit Wyld. Seeing my nephew so close, I'll HAVE to stop for a visit. This is just a small example of how extended family, can bring you closer to your own!!! I know they'll be happy I'm quitting the drug scene. I don't agree with the reasons I'm doing it, but what the hay. Not be it for me to figure things out. I'm just learning to let things fall in place, & let the blocks fall where they will. I'm doing pretty good so far. (Altho I have my moments, I haven't caved yet)

BTW: How the heck is that quilt coming???? I look forward to seeing it, at a gig, or at the church sometime soon I hope! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

It's coming along just fine--and hopefully it will be ready for the Fall Shows. I'm planning on bringing it with us when we come up. I'll try to get some pictures of the work in progress so people can see it.
