Well, even with the stupid zero tolerance laws, the reality in NYC for the typical pot arrest - for use, not for selling - if you don't have any warrants out or anything, is more like what you'd get for a DUI than a truly life wrecking experience. They really don't have time to be incarcerating people just for pot smoking. Not saying it never happens, but it's not like you're going upstate for a seed or anything. But this..this is just the funniest thing that's happened in politics..well, I guess since Newt's sister came out.

It's that pesky First Amendment again; you'd think he could learn from the Reagan-Bush School of Obsfuscation how to turn it around so he never said what they heard him say.

Pat, I'm now reading Ralph's book "Crashing the Party" (review later).

I just noticed that BOTH Pete AND Arlo are listed in the back as Members of the Citizens Committee for Nader/LaDuke.

I knew Pete was Green, but I didn't realize Arlo was on board too. Did you know that? Now, given that Arlo is never wrong, are you prepared to admit that you were wrong not to support Nader?
;-)

Yeah, ADG was for Nader. I think I read somewhere he had signs promoting him in the church during the elections. At least he wasn't for the Democrats LOL! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/wink.gif" width=15 height=15>

Lcj, as strongly as I felt about..that man..I feel much more strongly now. After hearing about some of MM's more recent statements, I've heard some people actually wonder if he's a stealth Republican. I don't believe that, yet, but I do believe that they're bent on giving us a totally Republican dominated congress. I hate them both. With everything in my being.

Arlo knows things, but I do think that in this case, it's way too much principle with too little regard for reality. No one's ever accused Arlo of being a hard nosed realist or making too much sense.

Pat, I was teasing you below, it doesn't sound like you took it in the light-hearted manner for which it was offered.

I can't believe you really could "hate" these guys for what they're doing. After seeing Ralph document the systematic and intentional suicide of the Democratic Party, when they really didn't have to, I'm more thankful than ever that someone has the balls to do it. It's all there, facts, names, dates, places, consumations. The Dems didn't HAVE to give up in the late 70's and early 80's, they pissed it away without much of a fight. I urge you to read Nader's book. Hating him without at least reading his reasons is pretty lame. His book is right on. You can borrow our copy when we're done if you like.

AS for ARLO not making much sense, are you nuts? Arlo has made more sense to me in my life than just about anyone. I don't know if I'd be here today without that man's wisdom.

Smile Pat! Life will get better.

Though I've oft been accused of living in la-la-land, I usually feel better dealing with principles instead of reality. More frustrated maybe, but also more hopeful. What COULD be, you know? Signing off now because I realize I'm sounding really blonde, even for me.

I honestly don't know if I can read his book. I've really never been so angry at anyone, ever. I've been plenty disgusted with the Democrats, but never to the point of inviting the opposition to take over. And now there really is a blood pressure issue, so I'm working on just saying screw it. The left will alwaYs hurt itself and by extension the people who look to them for help far more than they hurt the right and that's the way it is. So be it. I'll try to embrace the all Republican future that that man and his friend Mike want to give us..because math and reality are what affect people's lives, not lofty principles handed down by people who could live on their speaking fees for the rest of their lives.
