Awesome about the stuffed dog! I have a teddy bear that my Dad gave to my Mom after they were married. It got passed down to me with one exception. His poor eyes had to be removed because back then (late 40's or so) the eyes were on metal spikes. When I got older..."Topsey" got his eyes back!! LOL I think he is stuffed with straw or something. Nothing like they are today!

I can hear it now, "How you doin' Kevin? "Chill baby, chillin'!"
"How you cookin' Kevin?" "Grill baby, grillin'!"

Not many things are more fun than campfire cooking, strumming, singing, and celebrating with friends and loved ones. That is living at its best. Ha, have fun and be safe.

Stephanie, I am sentimental, but limited by storage capacity. I have had to sadly part with many things I wish I had room to save. The stubbs were easy to put away in a safe place all these years, as they don't take up any space, and hold some very big memories.

Cheryl, have fun at the show. We get to see Arlo in Sacramento next April. Seems like a long way off.

Thanks to you all for the love. We did have a wonderful time last night. Many memories relived. Great Jambalaya, went to 4 bars, some live music, drank, well, enough. Then we watched the 4th quarter of the team that they play after us. Jerry did a little coach work while we partied.

My wife is on her way to pick up our 3 yr. old grandson, Jack. We get to visit with him alone for a couple of days. Sweet. We have a fire pit in the backyard, and will break out a large book of kids songs. Oh yeah. Bring on the night. Jack has chosen pork chops for tonight. I grill some seriously juicy pork chops.

I have a small stuffed dog also...given to me Christmas 1977 by my husband. We'd bought and moved into our first house in Indianapolis that July, and the campaign was on to get a puppy. I had a hard time convincing my husband, who had previously only had a nasty cat (who would happily shred you with claws with no provocation) for a pet to agree to getting a dog. So...that was the puppy he got for me. It sits on our dresser.
We did get a puppy that following May of 1978...a crazy, wild Irish Setter. I had her housebroken and obedience trained before our son arrived that September.

My hubby had a nasty cat when we got married ! He was a terror. Hid behind things and jump out at or on me. We ended up getting along but it wasn't easy. He did, however get me out of handwriting my Thank You notes, when he shredded the back of my hand and three fingers, which I couldn't bend for a good while.

His dog wasn't too fond of me either, but we did finally bond. Both have crossed the rainbow bridge. We have two cats now, brothers and they are the coolest cats I have ever seen. No people food what so ever. They won't even eat tuna! Never saw a cat that would walk away from pure tuna in my life!

Yeah, we had a great time at the show. Hope you enjoy you show which I know you will. My stuffed dog had a squeak in his tail. You squeeze it & he squeaks. It's been many yrs since he squeaked tho, bless his heart...

I've always heard that you can't teach an old dog new squeaks.....
