imho, nader is at the nadir of his career, and his ego could not sustain itself without injection into current events. Since he no longer has a cause celebre to otherwise tout, running for president for the fifth time is his only course of action...

luckily, folks took him as another Harold Stasson the last time out, and there's no indication he'll do better (but likely even worse) this time out.
Personally, i hope the dems keep him off of every state ballot... but the repubs will fight for him now... so much for "no impact"...
He adds nothing constructive to the conversation, he has no personal clout to inject himself in a meaningful way, and despite his protests, he clearly had impact on the 2000 election. If he had more empathy and intelligence and less ego, he would have gotten onto the Sunday show and offered his deepest apologies for the past 8 years and his role in allowing that to happen. If he had done that, he could have been king!

but thankfully, he didn't. He'll just be a sidebar in occassional articles as the campaign gears up this year.

Nader is older than dirt, but he's isn't likely to be a serious contender for president. It doesn't really look like McCain will win, but after the last election, who really knows? His war talk is very scary to me.

Nader's ideas of Big Business running dc is right on. Its was brought up in 92, and there still hasn't been any answer to it. Or what was that Chrysler song in the 80's?

I saw that interview too - Nader never made clear if the "percentages" of his votes he quoted - that went to Dems or Rep's - were in one district or 25. Although it was easy enough to assume he meant "the whole country" I need the whole equasion. Percentages can be manipulated many ways - to mean what ever you want them to.

However, I too, would really like Nader to get in his Corvair and ride off in the sunset.

Someone had best get it though to the People that Corporations, and Religion run DC. Nader won't do the religion part but he knows who owns DC. Surly not the Unions who should.
