Hey Blunderites,
I am blue colar to the core. I love Neil Diemond's song, For ever in blue jeans. I was a Union Electrician who knows how benefits can be paid out over the course of one's lifetime working.
I'm upset that adg implied he was walking away from my ideas just becuase, I am alone in them. I had a life once before I had an awakening about who I could end up being when it is all said and done.
There is a child in Isaiah 9 who's kingdom will have peace from that time on and forever. It is not christ, for we have had more wars since JC than before him. It just seems like the logical conclusion to me to find out what that child would do today.
Worker Ownership in my mind, must be what would lead to his kingdom.
Unions! would not be neccarsary if capitalism was all this land says it is.
History points that out clearly.
When it is all said and done, the workers had better get enough profits to pay for retiement and healthcare.
Arlo? If my day ever comes. I will call You, Steve Miller, Bono, Ted Turner, Ross Perot, Jerry Brown and Bill Gates and maybe Jane Fonda to confer on waht can we do to end war, crime and poverty.
Sorry but
My Name is Michael Cheverie Dewey

I forget who, but I recently heard (or read) that some one said that artists, particularly a lot of poets and songwriters, are seekers. Don't have all the answers, but hey! Who does? I thought it was this guy, "Bugsy", in my high school Physics class. Dang, that guy was smart! Well, I'm 55 and I still don't know much more than I did back then. Fact is, I have even more questions now.

I believe that we _all_ have a right to our opinion, and we _all_ have a right to support what we want to support, have time to support, and/or believe in strongly enough to support in the best way we know how. Being upset with someone because they don't support what you want in the way you want is being narrow minded, and takes away freedom of choice in how we live our lives. You are doing a fine job of voicing your beliefs, you don't need anyone else to speak for you. All the people you mention are all _people_ doing the best they can to live their lives in the best way they can, as we all are. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

i think you summed it up there Cheryl, the strengths and weaknesses of society, the indivdual and the dancing strings of Shiva!

Now for the recipe to the question, "What will it take to have that big party of Isaiah 25?"

One part water from the Ganges
One part water from the dead sea
one part water from the Read Sea
One part water from the Canadian River
Four Parts Water from the Jordon River
THe fluid squeezed from the Slaughtered innocent grandson of a prophet
THe bones of a martyred Jewish Buddhist
A caldron of Iron from Eire
And the meat of peppers from the bag of Don Juan

Bring to a boil
Let simmer for a millenia or two
While all the people dance the dance of life and illusions!

It will all be OK soon!

Yea, to that Cheryl. Not to mention, I don't think that it's such a good idea to put Ted Turner and Jane Fonda in the same room with each other!

If Capitaism was all it was quacked up to be, Union men and women of the last century would never have had to speak up for more share of the profits. Hey, I'm looking for answers to the problems Social Security is going to run into, in the not to distanced future. If we had worker ownership, those profits would cover it.
And Teddy K. has been screaming for health care for all, for about 40 years now. How long are we going to wait for the gov. to do it when we should all know by now, that it is the multi-national corperations that run the show down there in D.C.
There is a kingdom in Isaiah 9 which is not Christ crusified that will have peace from that time on and forever. Clearly that kingdom will not be the experiment of capitalism the founding fathers of this land mistakenly set-up.
What is wrong with the profits of the TV being used to pay for health-care and S.S.? Why do the rich have to get richer off of the TV which is said to be owned by the people. I am quite sure, that if you set it up like the Post Office is, we would be on our way to Peace.
Like I said before, if we wait for the gov to fix problems they have not fixed for 200 years, that it is insanity.

you say you want a revolution well you know
we all want to change the world

Is the capitalism today the same capitalism as yesterday?
Can unions become relevant again?
Is the globalization of low wages good or bad?
How does globalization of low wages effect:

1. America, the middles class, the lower class and the ghetto?
2. How does it effect net value of savings and wages?
3. Will it polarize or unify our society?
4. Is it really fair to the mill workers and tennis shoe makers earning a fraction of America's minimum wage around the world?
5. Is the health care industry designed to insure you dissipate any wealth you may have accrued during your lifetime?
6. Do rich people deserve better heath care than poor people?
7. What about insurance, can you trust those guys?

Oh, the list goes on and on and I grow weary?

Imagine a world where the people of the world collectively owned and managed the wealth, potential and resources associated with human endeavor? But, damn it, you always need a management system uncorrupt by petty ambition in place for that? So, there is no unification of effort, just fragmentation and the selfish pursuit of the indivdual (or conglomerate) and a stumbling bumbling progression into (finger pointing forward in a dramatic fashion) THE FUTURE!!!!

It ain't that I want a Revolution. I would perfer that d.c would call a constitunial convention to get it up to date with the 21 century. The foundations of this system are cracking. You see it on tv and in the papers everyday.
I think you could set up a system that would not lead to people up top getting greedy. We are going top fast and have been going to fast for a long time. That is, in my mind why greed and the lust for power can blind people in power to not see a better way.-They are sold out to the system.
Hey I love America. And I think Arlo is great whether he is behind me or not.
But I'm looking for the things that will lead to peace forever like that kingdom of Isaiah 9:6 that will have peace forever. The terroist have a oint you don't hear to often. America is ripping off the middle east and if I was over there, I would be on the terrorist's side. Hopefully by my pen.
Many Union men I've worked with, who have seen more than me, have said the wealth must be spread out. And even Solomon said, "Money is the answer to everything." You could give everyone a big rise just by giving people their homes, and starting over.

Well, I want a revolution, one that extends beyond the borders of economic, nationalistic, racial and religious sanctuaries and states of confusion. These bounds have no relevance to the future of the world. They only provide a false sense of comfort in numbers that is destructive in nature as they polarize and segregate into factions with petty agenda’s in a world that has grown far to small for that type of nonsense. I am in a relatively small minority though because the suggestion that all these different peoples sit down together and discuss the future in a rational and sane fashion, well in most of these states of confusion around the world, if you take it seriously, that is treason.

But, I agree, I like Arlo whether he agrees with me or not.

Children of Abraham, what’s your story

As for me, I'll try to figure out the answers when I have a better idea of what the questions are.

Well ok since I am number nine of 12 in the family, I wouildn't mind being part of Revolution #9 as long as it was the last one of this world.
Hey, Eisonhower warned us about the giant military industrial complex that most politcians in d.c still bring jobs back home to their states for.
We had better start investing in alternative energy. Ethonol and the hydrygen fuel cells would be a good start.
The memmory of a man telling me that America has to show thw world how to do it right is stuck in my mind every day.
Right now, all we are showing it is massive kaos at high volume. And I for one are pissed.

A few revolutionary quotes from Thomas Jefferson, President & inventor of the folding chair and the dish of macaroni & cheese (yum!):

"But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce [the people] under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security." --Thomas Jefferson: Declaration of Independence, 1776

"Every generation needs a new revolution."

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny”

“A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both, and deserve neither”

“The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive.”

Thanks Zap,
And Tom Paine said on the last page of one version of Common Sence I read, "An advitity to pinish is to be avoided.." basicly at all cost for it will take the punishers liberty's away.

My big thing is that the TV could pay lots of our taxes if set up like the Post Office.
I think insurence companies, who many have told me have a liscence to steal could too, along with even banks.

Alright, who he going to draw up our plan of attack?
