Nah, I actually do believe all that stuff to be true, because I see it unfolding in my own life, as well. (The sweetest revenge lies in letting go. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/wink.gif" width=15 height=15> It generally works for me, at least ... and often without having to wait until another lifetime, either.)

The thing is, even if it's not true -- even if it's just delusionary of me to think that I see signs of karma all around me all the time -- living as if it's real still produces the most positive results in my own life. And at some level, I honestly don't think I care that much if the next guy gets paid back in kind for what he or she did, either. What matters (to me) is to get past whatever the bad stuff is entirely, and put my energy into good things.
Sure beats the hell out of getting caught up (and then stuck) in a nightmare of someone else's making and design.

I loved following the cast from 'Northern Exposure'. Even 'Howling' ended up on some 1/2 hr. show. Robert Morrow's a great actor. He played the guy who shot Lincoln, 'John Wilkes Boothe'? And Cris (forgetting the actors name for the moment) made a ton of money doing Truck Commercials. I loved that 'Twister or 'Hurricane Movie he's in, but he die's in the first 20 min. of the film. And I believe Ed was in a cult Movie, but it's too early in the day. That sure was an ALL Star cast!!!

**Favorite episode, is where Ed is afraid Ruth Ann is dying. And he buys this small chunk of land, over-seeing a cliff. He wanted her to be buried there, where the sun always rises, ect. ect....And Ruth Ann explains to (naive) Ed, that people get old, and simply dy. For her to lose any thought about it wouldn't be her. She was too busy thinking of all the good times, and not the bad. Then they did this Dance. It was SO natural. Acting like that, you don't witness on Telivision too often....In that show, it's an every day affair....Cept maybe when the new Dr. arrives...<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/peace.gif" width=16 height=16>

In my eyes, Chomsky is probably *thee* wisest man living on the planet today. If we had people like Chomsky in charge, the world might stand a chance.

He's definately a must-read.

Chomsky certainly makes some good points. He's also made some really, really bad ones. Also, so many of his positions distill down to his feeling that the US and/or Israel are responsible for every evil in the world. His defense of mass murder, ie, the Khmer Rouge is indefensible, even in the context of the time, because he was no impressionable college student at the time. He continues to this day with apologia of mass murder, as long as it's committed by anti-western interests, as in his take on 9/11 and the whole situation in Afghanistan. I would regard him as worth reading, but with a grain of salt, and he's certainly an intelligent man, but I wouldn't be so quick to call him wise or enlightened.
