Global Trash Hash Hymnal

The Moose Song

(may be sung to: "Sweet Betsy of Pike")

(to be sung while making moose antlers on
head
your with hands and fingers pointing
upward.)

Moose, Moose, I love a moose,
I've never had anything quite like a moose,
My pleasure's been plenty,
My women been loose,
But nothing compares to the love of a Moose

When I'm in the mood for a very fine lay,
I go to the closet and pull out some hay,
I open the window and spread it around,
Because Moose will come running when hay's on the
ground,

When I was much younger I read dirty books, with gazing looks,
But nothing can make my eyes start to twinkle,
Like the feeling I get to be with Bullwinkle,

When I was a young lad I played with the girls,
I'd fondle their toes and twirl their curls,
But my true love ran off with a classmate named
Bruce,
I never got treated that way by a Moose,

Women like pearls and diamonds and cars,
I spend all my money on them in the bars,
But a Moose is content to be tied to a tree,
While I find other Mooses to satisfy me,

My girlfriend's a prude, she only likes it one way
That's why I sneak off with Margie the Moose, everyday,

Now I've made it with all kinds of beasties with
hair,
I'd make it with snakes if their fangs were not
there,
I've made it with walrus, two ducks and a goose,
But I've never had anything quite like a moose.

Now gorillas are fine for a Saturday night,
And lions and tigers, they puts up a fight,
But it just ain't the same when
As the feeling you gets when you sre with a
moose.

Now that I'm older and on in my years,
I'll have you know that I shed me no tears,
While I sit by the fire with a glass of Mateuse,
making love with Mary the Moose

Okay I left out the real dirty parts but it is a funny song....

Sunday morning, praise the dawning
Its just a restless feeling by my side
Early dawning, Sunday morning
Its just the wasted years so close behind

Watch out, the worls behind you
Theres always someone around you who will call
Its nothing at all

Sunday morning, and im falling
Ive got a feeling i just dont want to know
Early dawning, Sunday morning
Its all the streets you crossed, not so long ago

Watch out, the worlds behind you
Theres always someone around you,who will call
Its nothing at all

Sunday Morning
The Velvet Underground & Nico
This isn't the best song of theirs (Venus in Furs is) but it was just way too long to write!!!!

Saturday

Well I wake me up at the break of day
It's a pretty sky, I feel OK
I wonder how people live this way
and I roll back over again

Because the day is cool, the bed is warm
I got no call for a clock alarm
I don't believe it'll do much harm
if I stay in bed until ten

I've been needing one of these,
No responsibilities
I've been needing one of these,
Saturday

I don't wash my car I don't soak my lawn
But the shower's warm and the heater's on
So I'll stand right here 'til the water's gone
and oh it feels so nice

There's work to do, that's plain to see,
the laundry pile is as high as me
But the Beatles said just to let it be
and that sounds like good advice

I've been needing one of these,
No responsibilities
I've been needing one of these,
Saturday

Every day I drive to town,
I run and run 'til I fall down
Then I make my exit, take my bow
and I just cannot tell you how

I've been needing one of these,
No responsibilities
I've been needing one of these,
Saturday

Dedicated to Blunderites from Virginia--the latest song I can't get out of my head:

"Oh Virginia"
by John Phillips

She moves thru the crowd like a swan
Laughing with one, kiss another, then she's gone
But backstage at the ballet it's a bore
I cannot give the ladies any more

Oh Virginia, I miss the Blue Ridge Mountains
Oh Virginia, I miss the Shenandoah Valley
Oh Virginia, I miss your change of seasons
And I miss some good ol' friends who are livin' back home

She stands polite while I am gloriously rude
Just the other night I had my elbows in my food
She says that I must sparkle more
But backstage at the ballet it's a bore

Oh Virginia, I miss (etc.)

Her skin's so white & her forehead so high
I could not kiss my ballerina good-bye
I pinned a note on her door
Said backstage at the ballet it's a bore

Oh Virginia (etc.)

************What's Up***************

25 years my life is still
trying to get up that great big hill
of hope for a destination

I realize quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of
this brotherhood of man, for whatever that means

CHORUS

And so I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out what's in my head
And I'm feelin a little paculiar
So I wake in the morning when I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs 'What's going on'?

And I said hay, ay, ay, aye
Hay, ay, ay, aye, I said aye
What's going on??

Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, ew

And I try, oh my God do I try
I try all the time in this institution
And I pray, oh my God do I pray
I pray for things all day
For a revelution!

*Chorus*

4-Non-Blondes

He said, "Hold a dollar bill up to the mirror,
And I'll show you something funny.
It's only a fast buck, but, oooooo,
It's so hard to make that kind of money."

It's hard to get serious when the joker is laughing,
And by now the joker is wild,
It's hard to keep laughing when a rich man's reflection
Looks like a gun that's going to smile.

What's going on? I'm asking you
What's going on? Can you see?
What's going on? I ask, and then
Who's coming home, is it you or me?

Love it now, while it's still soft and warm
Burn it dry before the firey storm
Sing it now while you still have a song
Grab on now while you're still feeling strong

How long would you like it?
How long, oh, how long will it be?
How long, how long can we take it?
How long before we take it back, you and me?
Think fast!

I was thinking that I should be singing along
Think fast! I think he's coming through
Think fast! He thinks he's running you
I was thinking that I should be singing along
Think fast! He thinks he's coming in
Think fast! I think he's wearing thin
I was thinking that I should be singing along
Think fast! He's taking all your time
Think fast! You know he's out of line

Who can? You know?
You can do it, you know you can
Sing it now while you still
Sing it now while you still
Sing it now while you still
Sing it now while you still have a song!

Enough!
-------
"Images and words are buzzin round like flies,
hucksters fillin up your ears cant look into your eyes,

everything's up for sale, sizzle, tail & steak,
indoctrinated telemarketers are 1st cousins of a snake,

Glow-bull-Eye-zation, from shoes to drugs to crops
everything feeding old Dow Jones,
grindin away, non-stop

there's a 10 year old, in Thailand, who's shapin up your shoes,
and an Amazon family of farmers, with nothing left to lose,

There's a Silicon Valley junior exec. standing in a welfare line
but the CEO of parmacueticals is rakin it in, just fine,

There's a corporate parallel universe, removed from soil & seed,
the fertilizer's cheap labor,
the commodity is greed

no matter that the ozone leaks,
or rivers are runnin slow,
old Dow Jones's still tickin, gotta feed that bull, ya know...

network news anchormen dine with heads of state,
they tell the news so "objectively"
but, the words just don't relate

There used to be a balance, that connected thought and deed,
but market reasearch indicates. we can be lulled by greed..

So, sometime in the future, our children will sigh & ask..
'Why didnt they see? why didn't they know, they used it all up, so fast'

by Bumper, just now, after hearing one too many lie!!

THE PACIFICA BLUES
By Roger Manning
(Inspired by WBAI radio in NYC, Pacifica National Network, and the courageous people in the streets during the Persian Gulf war. Recorded live in New York City circa 1991.)

If doing something a thousand times
Would guarantee that it'd be done right
Oh, wouldn't everything be so much easier?

Greed written all over his face
Strife all over the place
Well they keep acting on their fear
It ain't the end of the world
But you can see it from here

Networks net a massive catch of brainwashed
Who might act different if they knew

But then a good song
Comes on the Pacifica radio
And longing for something to believe in
People take to the street singing
"No justice, no peace"

(Did you hear what the cop said?
They had a sign that said, "No Justice, No Police."
And then they stormed the Brooklyn Bridge,
and everything else...
They did everything we do!
But none of 'em got arrested!)

I ain't from the peace movement
I'm from the anti-bullshit movement
Yeah, well, history has taught me
Not that I was willing to listen
I just couldn't help it

It was a good song
It was the truth only louder
It gave me something to believe in
So I took to the street to speak with my feet

And people noticed
And were astonished
No one had told them of any opposition
To what they'd been led to believe in.
Yeah now most of them didn't really want to know
But a few joined in because they couldn't
Stand the lies any more.

It was a good song
It was the truth only louder
It gave us something to believe in
People took the streets
Trying to make the truth even louder

It was a good song!

not by Z but through Z

"...and, the moral of this story, the moral of this song, is that one should never be, where one does not belong.
but, if you see your brother carryin something, help him with his load, just don't go mistakin paradise, for that home, across the road...."

Ripple by R. Hunter and J. Garcia

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
and my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
would you hear my voice come through the music
would you hold it near as if it were your own?

It's a hand me down
The thoughts are broken
perhaps they're better left unsung
I dont really know
Dont really care
Let there be songs to fill the air

Ripple in still water when there is no pebble tossed
nor wind to blow

Reach out your hand if your cup is empty
If your cup is full..may it be again
Let it be known there is a fountain
that was not made by the hands of men

There is a road ..no simple highway
between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go no one may follow

That path is for your steps alone

Ripple in still water when there is no pebble tossed
nor wind to blow

You who choose to lead must follow
but if you fall.. you fall alone

If you should stand then who's to guide you
If I knew a way
I would take you home.

Doors of Heaven
words and music by Arlo Guthrie

If all the doors were closed in heaven
Where would all the angels go
Would they just fly around forever
Or would they come down here below

If the pearly gates were closed this morning
Would there be angels here tonight
And would they live their lives among us
And share the darkness with their light

If all the doors were close in heaven
They'd have to close the road to hell
We'd all be stuck here with each other
There would be nowhere else to dwell

If the pearly gates were closed this morning
And everyone there had to leave
And death was nothing but a moment
Beyond the breaths you took to breathe

If all the doors were closed in heaven
Who would dare abuse a child
Or let a little kid go hungry
Or not return a simple smile

If the pearly gates were closed this morning
And the host of heaven was on the street
I wonder if they'd look much different
From the likes of you and me

So I hope they close the doors to heaven
And all the angels up above
Come and build a home among us
Remind us what it is to love

If the pearly gates were closed this morning
Would there be angels here tonight
And would they live their lives among us
And share the darkness with their light

LIGHT ONE CANDLE
Peter Yarrow- ©1983 Silver Dawn Music ASCAP

Light one candle for the Maccabee children
With thanks that their light didn't die
Light one candle for the pain they endured
When their right to exist was denied
Light one candle for the terrible sacrifice
Justice and freedom demand
But light one candle for the wisdom to know
When the peacemaker's time is at hand

Don't let the light go out!
It's lasted for so many years!
Don't let the light go out!
Let it shine through our love and our tears.

Light one candle for the strength that we need
To never become our own foe
And light one candle for those who are suffering
Pain we learned so long ago
Light one candle for all we believe in
That anger not tear us apart
And light one candle to find us together
With peace as the song in our hearts

Don't let the light go out!
It's lasted for so many years!
Don't let the light go out!
Let it shine through our love and our tears.

What is the memory that's valued so highly
That we keep it alive in that flame?
What's the commitment to those who have died
That we cry out they've not died in vain?
We have come this far always believing
That justice would somehow prevail
This is the burden, this is the promise
This is why we will not fail!

Don't let the light go out!
It's lasted for so many years!
Don't let the light go out!
Let it shine through our love and our tears.

Don't let the light go out!
Don't let the light go out!
Don't let the light go out!

"When emotions run high"

"...
The crowd was finally headed off by folksinger Woody
Guthrie, quietly, peacefully singing, ''We will fight
together, we shall not be moved. We will fight
together, we shall not be moved. Just like a tree that's
standing by the water, we shall not be moved.''
