Right OK! That is what that is! So, oh superior one, did free market exist or not exist in America. So far we have two or three answers to that question!

There has only been one answer, but you refuse to acknowledge it because you and I both know it defeats your senseless argument and makes you look rather stupid. Ah, what the hell, I enjoy that.. There has never been 100% free market capitalism in this country. Now, let me walk you through that.. Tell your two brain cells to hold hands for a second:

That doesn't mean free market capitalism doesn't exist. Got it sweetie? Even today it exists, but it is not 100%. It is weighted down by mouth breathers who think they know better than nature.

So, only you, with your magical powers, are capable of deducing that all the good prosperity that has been created by America is the result of some percentage of free market capitalism and all the bad non prosperity is the result of extravagant government based social spending spree that has crippled our country primarily since FDR.

Please oh enlightened one, let us in on the secret?

So I am assuming, with all your grains of salt, that you have finally figured out what I said before? Can we now say that I never said it didn't exist?

And there is no magic about it.. If you feel like taking the time to educate yourself instead of spouting out the party line, you will come to the same conclusion:

If I am a healthy 25 year old man, and every day I use my legs to walk to work, and I arrive at work on time every day, I can logically conclude that the system of walking works. Not only do I save money by not spending it on a car, but I improve my health. Now let's say, every day, someone ads a little more weight to my body. Sure I can make it to work, but eventually as the weight gets more and more burdensome, I will not be able to. Using YOUR logic Heraclitis, walking is a failed system.

Your shit doesn't make sense even when you try to use someone else's logic...

Yes, Nobel prize winning economist Milton Friedman was confused, but Heraclitis is not..

Nobel Prize Winning....Bump Bump Ba Ba
Stand at Attention...Jafo says that if a Nobel Prize winning economist says a Nobel Prize winning physicist was driven by greed. IT IS SO!

Oh come on Jafo, It is quite obvious, you understand this about as well you and understand social security. No at all! So how can you be expected to explain it?

Tell me, exactly why should I explain anything to you? You don't read my responses at all. I have destroyed your arguments over and over and you just come back with this petty bullshit. It's pretty pathetic actually.

Where is YOUR argument? Just like intelligence, you have none.

You have argued that the Great Depression is the result of the Federal Reserve not manipulating the free market by devaluing the dollar (what the Federal Reserve was supposed to do in this situation according to their charter written by progressives). The progressives were followed by a scandalous fellow named Harding and a boring chap named Coolidge who were TRICKLE DOWN THEORISTS. They also had a fellow named Benjamin Strong at the Federal Reserve (a Morgan Man (JP that is)) and an industrialist named Mellon heading the Treasury. You would have loved them! They almost ended the progressive income tax and they were acting to return the world to the gold standard (that nasty WWI and all its debt had really made a mess of the Gold Standard). Well, as Milton said, their descendants (because they were gone when Hoover came around) kept the fire burning. They did not act (as Milton would have) because they said the Market needed a good cleaning (and don't forget, they could not loosen the amount of available cash because the law required that they could not devalue the dollar below 40% of the gold standard (as a Ron Paul Supporter another thing you would be proud of)).

Does not really make sense given your argument that manipulating the free market created the Great Depression?

(Grain of Salt...Grain of Salt...Just Chant....Grain of Salt)

Oh, did I point out that Milton Friedman is a Nobel Prize winning Economist!

My argument is that Fed did not do their job, the ones they took away from banks in 1913 when the Federal Reserve was created. As Milton wrote:

Quote:
Had the Federal Reserve System never been established, and had a similar series of runs started, there is little doubt that the same measures would have been taken as in 1907—a restriction of payments. That would have been more drastic than what actually occurred in the final months of 1930. However, by preventing the draining of reserves from good banks, restriction would almost certainly have prevented the subsequent series of bank failures in 1931, 1932, and 1933, just as restriction in 1907 quickly ended bank failures then. . . . The panic over, confidence restored, economic recovery would very likely have begun in early 1931, just as it had in early 1908.

So yes, socialist MEDDLING created the great depression, not some failure of capitalism. Why don't you chant that a few times.

Who said anything about benevolence? The pre-fed banks would have taken care of themselves out of self interest, not for any want of being altruistic. It is the guise of benevolence that established bumbling socialist institutions like the Fed.
