I agree with adg. The polititions don't really want what the founding fathers wanted for this country. The plan was for the represenatives of the people to live among the people they represented. They were suposed to serve for a term or two, not become life-time polititions who
spend their time lining their own pockets by special interest groups.
Who ever decided way back when that it was ok for congress to vote themselves pay raises and huge, retirement plans (much better than Social Security that the common people pay for and depend on) and all the other perks that the tax payers pay for? Conflict of interest? Ya think?
The rights of the people such as who can get married, and abortion rights should be for each state to decide. It's not really the business of the federal government. The government is suposed to support the interests of the American people in trade with the rest of the world and to defend the security of our people.
Obama seems to be the one most likely to support real change, but it will be an uphill battle that he can't win alone. Maybe if the voters stay as interested as we seem to be now, and we get rid of the dead-wood congress people in office now who don't want their little worlds rocked-who knows? America could be great again.

I''ll second Obama. Besides the war which you can find my views on in Beds are Burning, put down that weapon by Midnight Oil along with Jim Croce's Which way are you you going, and Jackson Browne's Lives in the Balance (All of which can be found on you-tube) my pet peeve is that the abortion debate would fade from site. No body likes them, so if you don't, don't have one.

It would be wonderful if all mankind did act with kindness towards one another, as well as use a little common sense. A few years ago in our small rural community, we had road construction going on and the signs warning drivers to be careful of the workers. It was also a school zone, so there was a slow speed limit in any case. Still, two flagmen were hit by cars!
Also in this area, the sheriff escorts funeral processions out of town and most people pull to the side of the road as a sign of respect. I think that's a nice custom, however many drivers keep right on driving with flashing blue lights and sirens of emergency vehicles blaring as if they don't notice them. Crazy!

Many of the consumer safety laws seem just silly but manufactures have to follow them to protect themselves from law suits. Like the warning on a hairdryer-"Do not use under water." I couldn't believe it when a person sued McDonald's and won because she poured hot coffee in her own lap. Yes, kill all the lawyers could be a good advice, but I'm pretty sure that's a felony!

Have you heard they're using lawyers for scientific experiments? There are some things even lab rats won't do.

I remember last May I was attending a funeral...during the procession from the funeral home to the cemetary, cars cut into the line that were not part of the procession...there was five miles of Frederick, MD city streets between point A and point B...and because of the cars cutting in, some people got lost on the way over to the cemetery...never mind the cops with the flashing lights and all the cars following the cops. Makes you really wonder what they were thinking.

It names some of the modern offences. And a little different set up of the Executive Branch.-which in reality, isn't much different than the Cabinet set up we have now.
