Bethel, N.Y. A new museum is opening June 2 at the site of the 1969 Woodstock Concert. The museum at Bethel Woods. located about 90 minute's north of New York City, will offer exhibits, personal stories, multimedia experience's and programs about the 1960's focusing on music to fashion to political opposition.

Not so sure that I'd want to visit the 'sanitized' version of the Woodstock Museum.... (I saw a bit of what they had planned, and felt like it was made for the suits to go and gawk at the freaks, when they go to Bethel Woods to hear the philharmonic.) I really liked the 'homegrown' museum in Vassmer's store in White Lake, before Alan Gerry came to town.

I haven't been to the new Bethel Woods venue... I think it would break my heart, after having seen the 'work in progress' and after trying to convince the "Powers that be" to NOT build on the site. True, they left the bowl intact, but the site lines have been drastically altered, with the museum and gift shop at the crest of the bowl...

Some friends have been there, and they tell me that it's not bad. Others refuse to go to Bethel at all anymore. I'm not saying that I won't go, I just don't know if I could handle the changes.

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.......

Yeah, but I know the spirit is still alive...at least in me...this place is the closest thing I've found to that feeling and those friends.

So sad to see them ruining a true legendary landmark. I wonder if they will have anything on Arlo there?
