Students at lunch counters
Even dancing in the streets

Song, songs, kept them going and going
They didn’t realize the millions of seeds they were sowing
They were singin in marches, even singing in jail
Songs gave them the courage to believe they would not fail
We sang about Alabama 1955

But since 9-11 we wonder will this world survive
The world learned a lesson from Dr. King
We can survive, we can, we will
And so we sing

Thanks Cheryl. I was around back then, although a child. But I can remember that Dr. King was described as a radical, never as a visionary. And now, all these years later, it's apparent that Dr. King was not only a visionary, he was a reasonable man living in an unreasonable culture...

I am saddened that John McCain, the same man who voted against the bill to remember MLK with a national holiday, had the nerve to make a speech from the Lorraine Motel in Memphis today.

Apparently his hipocrisy knows no bounds.

I was a kid back then too. It was sad to see how he got treated so bad back then when all he was trying to do was free his people. I wish he could've lived to have seen the advances made since then...
