Good answer Cheryl. But if that fails, the family could join hands and sing a little of Alice's Restaurant - in three part harmony. If that doesn't scare the terrorist and all he's got is a knife, I guess, being an expert shot, I'd shoot the knife out of his hands, and if necessary, shoot him in the kneecaps. I think the Alice's Restaurant thing'd probably work, though.
