Cold downunder huh? Ya know, I read years ago that native Americans used to spread bear fat on themselves as an insulator to help keep warm. I'd venture a guess that vegemite might have similar properties and could be used for the same purpose. And, as a side benefit, if you used your entire supply for this purpose, you wouldn't have to eat that s**t!

Well it might not seem cold to some but here in the Sub Tropics it's cold to us. As I left for work on Thurs morn at 6:15 AM the temp on my back porch was 0C which is 32F of course. It was down to minus 7C in some areas, the coldest on record, which means in a hundred years or so. Im sure the indiginous people had many winters a cold as this in the past. Yesterday, Friday, there was frost on the ground.
The ski resorts down in the Australian Alps are having their best season for many years. We hope this means our weather is changing and we will get our summer wet season back again before all the water supply dams dry up completely.
I use to love walking to school in the snow in ORE but now the cold gets right into my bones...must be to do with middle age?
