Hi Everyone,

I have been absent from group lately because I am going through a rocky time in my life right now in relation to my health and my job. One week before Christmas a had a major episodic flare-up at work, it was very bad. One day I was working in the kitchen washing out coffee pots then all of a sudden out of the blue, I began to throw things, tear down a supervisor's desk and found my head on top of a desk screaming and crying in the managers office. I was sent home immediately and I have been out of work on medical since December. A few days after I was sent home I got a 3 day unpaid suspension. At the moment I am seeing my psychiatrist 3 times and month and my theparist twice a month and also taken anger management classes which are not helping me control my anger in a work setting. My doctor anticipates that I should return to work by the middle of next month. In my own perspective I don't feel that I should return to my job, if I do I am afraid I will have another flare up and then I will be terminated. I did not know that a serious behavioral condition can get you in so much trouble. It is not like a picked a day to go off the wall or act like a drama queen I did not do this on purpose I am being treated like I am some kind of criminal I do not have a police record in any case. When I received my written warning/letter of suspension it stated that if I do not follow the University's Rules of Conduct or follow the Governor's and campus President act of violence rules I will be
terminated. In others words I do not think that UCONN Dining Services are understanding people to a certain extent, they do not understand my illness
I say the hell with them! Next week I am going to hand in my letter of resignation and start looking for another job that is not high fast paced something where I am comfortable and work at a healthy pace. I don't care if the job pays peanuts I just want to make my self happy and pay some bills but not all of them. If I don't have any luck in finding a job where I live, I maybe moving down South is it not definite. I do not miss work all or not ambitious to return. Right now I feel I am stuck in a corner pocket now that my work record is bad and not sure if I will ever pull myself out of the pocket. I feel very stressed and my life is turned inside out a bit.
I will try to hang in there and maybe something will come up

TTYS!
Peace,
Lorie

Lorie, I'm sorry to hear about the hard times you are having. Keep your chin up... try to think of positive things. Changing from a high-paced job may help a lot - I sure hope so, and I hope you find the right job when you are ready.

Lots of blundervibes are heading in your direction.

So sorry to hear about what going on. Maybe you need a less stressful job. I'm glad I'm not working anymore as it was too stressful. I can relate as I have depression due to diabetes and it has gotten worse since Mike has gone. What people don't realize is depression related episodes are stuff that can't be helped and are caused by the depression. So thankful I don't have the manic kind of depression. But I sometimes wonder if I could get that from losing Mike. We're here for ya. Hang in there. Good luck with whatever you do...

Blundervibes and wishes for your happinessness sent from here Lorie. Remember that the word "crisis" actually consists of two parts. In Chinese, the word, or concept of "crisis" is represented by two different characters: the first means "danger;" the second, "opportunity." Crisis provides us the opportunity to affect positive growth and meaningful change. You must already possess a great strength of spirit to have made it so far. I have faith you will find the right path to take to find peace.

Big hugs and blundervibes, Lorie! So sorry things have been so rough for you! I hope you can find something that is slower paced and easier on your nerves and feelings, and less stressful. I've walked away from jobs that were too much stress and not worth the heartache involved...sometimes you've got to do that for your own good. Best wishes and good luck to you.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to touch base that as of this past Monday I resigned from my job. I thought that was for the best. I don't think I could have gone back to face anybody there and being anxious and fearful of what I did to co-workers by scaring them . In about a month I am planning to move to Florida near Orlando I am looking at affordable apartments online and having an application sent to me so that I can fill it out right away. I also have put in 20 applications for Disney World, housekeeping at hotels, and Universal Studios. Maybe just some relaxation and Florida sun will help me get away from all of the agony at home and a high paced work environment. If I get the apartment in Florida I will not be able to go to the Church to see Arlo and all of youse. I was planning on going to the Church in May because of what I was going through this past Fall and Winter. As I mentioned before at work pay I don't care if the job was less money as long as I have a roof over my head, pay my car payments, pay my car insurance, food in my house, and pay utilites. I will continue to keep you all informed about what the following month will bring for me

Peace,
Lorie

Much good luck, Lorie! I think sun and sand may be really good for you! Do you have family or friends in Florida? Making a big move can be a little scary, but know that WE are with you wherever you are! (((HUGS!)))

Wyld,

I do have some relatives in Florida, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck  Seriously no. I just need peace away from everybody. I am to the point where my parents are driving me nuts living under the same roof with them I need my privacy. I hope to get a job at Disney World that would be cool just like having a vacation every day 8)

Hi Lorie,
good luck to you. I am sorry that you have so much trouble.
You named this topic "stuck in a corner pocket". Remember when you were in a corner pocket on the way to Woody fest in Oklahoma. Now you just take us blunderites along in your back pocket. We'll be there available when needed.
Love and Peace
Brigitte
