Richie Hayward, long time drummer for the band Little Feat, has liver cancer and must undergo chemo. As typical with a lot of musicians, he has no insurance. Fund raisers and info at the following sites:

So sorry to hear about him. So sad they don't have health insurance. Prayer just said for him & vibes sent. I always liked their Dixie Chicken song. I remember they had out an album with a picture of a tomato on it dressed sexy and one with a duck on it dressed sexy. I forget what songs was on them but I think Dixie Chicken was on one of them...

Vibes heading his way!!!

(Off-topic - sort of - Cheryl... think about it... if there were a single-payer national health option, he probably would be covered!)

Not off topic at all, Wyld. If we had a better health care system this thread might not have even been posted.

Hopefully they will find something that works for both sides. Free healthcare but without the socialism or folks having to wait to get their healthcare...

This will be a rhetorical question to most Blunderites, but why do so many Americans believe that socialism is such a bad thing......and for that matter, why capitalism is such a great thing??? :?

I'm pretty sure now that you are correct. I used to blame it on ignorance, but looking back, I guess I was just trying to be politically correct and not hurt anybody's feelings......
