I had a lovely day; I got to sleep in! I had several birthday phone calls from my two sisters and my brother; my mom called a little later, and I had lunch at a favorite restaurant where they know me because I've been coming in for over 20 years. it's a family-owned place, and they've got great coffee and a wait staff that has been there since the 70's. Nice folks!

Jim and Kevin took me out to McCormick and Schmick's tonight, where we had a lovely dinner. I can recommend the flounder with lobster and crab ravioli. It had a mini edible green over the top of the spinach...tiny leaves with red stem and leaf vein...called "Bull's Blood". I'd never seen it before, and it was pretty good. We chased dinner with dessert...in my case, a combo of fresh berries, with a lit birthday candle poking from the middle. Delicious and diabetes-friendly!

Laura was busy tonight, so she and her fiancee Mike are taking me out on the 7th...so that will be nice to look forward to.
