Hi Everyone,
I know I have not posted in a while because I am still having issues due to my illness. It seems that the meds I am taking are not helping me out from one kind up to four meds I am taking daily I am fighting a losing battle. I can't seem to stablize my moods or anxiety I do not know what to do now. My second choice will have to be checking myself into a facility, there are periods were I have massive meltdowns especially at work and been calling out sick because of anxiety and depression I feel almost 24 hours a day. I applied for FMLA just to be on a safe side so I can be covered without getting any occasions at work and to avoid discrimination. I am uncertain about attending the Spring Revival and Summer Revival shows this summer reason is that the last time I was at the Church I attended the Thanksgiving Dinner and then all of a sudden I got depressed, emotional, and anxious. I spent most of the dinner outside with a therapist and then left after 90 minutes.
I don't know what has happened to me I can't help it if I am getting more depressed.
I will not be posting here for while until further notice until I get the right treatment with the right therapy and meds.
Love and Peace,
Lorie

So sorry to hear about your depression. I can relate as I got depression due to my diabetes and am on meds for it. Now that Mikes passed on it's gotten even worse.

I miss him so much & talk to him sometimes & am upset that he went way to soon. When I talk about that around my folks, they don't understand why I am like that due to not understanding depression & want to me keep quiet about it. Guess they don't know how to deal with it. It's seriously whacking with my depression. As long as Mikes gone and I still have this diabetes I know I'll never get over it. Even tho I'll probably never get over it, I am trying to maintain & hang in there. It's not easy & folks aren't always gonna understand but I do. I hate it when people say junk like it's all in your head or have faith. It's not all in your heard & you can have all the faith you want & still suffer from depression cuz it's clinical.

I've never been to see anyone for help with it other than getting meds for it from my drs, cuz I just couldn't handle baring my soul to others. And esp after losing Mike. I don't like to show my emotions in front of others. Fortunately my depression has never kept me from going to Arlo shows. Instead it helps me hang in there. But lets say someone were to tell me I couldn't go to an Arlo show here in VA or didn't like me going to them, well that would severely whack with my depression & make it worse. In fact being on here helps me too. Prayers just said for ya & vibes sent. Hang in there we're here for ya...

Lori and Chery H.: I was diagnosed with "the big D" in 1991, and have been on anti-depressant meds ever since. I, too, am not big on "talk therapy", but whatever helps you feel well I don't knock. My shrink tells me it's just a chemical imbalance, and that's why the meds help.

Thanks for your concerns. I will try my very best to make it to the Church Shows for a couple of nights in May. If I get any of the symptoms as I mentioned in the thread I first posted, I might have to leave the sancuary for some deep breaths or leave early. I don't know it is hard to determine and unpredictable, so again I try my very best.

Peace,
Lorie

Hang on there, Lorie. You'll get through this. Most often it's finding the right combination and balance of meds & treatment. Life's like walking an unknown trail. Sometimes you've got to climb over some rough terrain to stay on the path. Lots of hills to climb but, once you get to the top of them, the view is usually worth the hike.
